We loved the location, the atmosphere, the staff. The executive oceanfront room was awesome! Lots of room. Loved sitting on the balcony with the ocean so close. Beautiful views! The food was good and the service was wonderful. The bed was a little too hard for me, as I sleep in a Sleepnumber bed at home. The only complaints were that we left food out on the counter one night and the next morning it was covered in ants! We had to keep all our food in the fridge. (cold chips aren't so crisp.) Also, the pool got VERY dirty and they had to close it for a few days. We didn't actually use the pool anyway, but we walked past it going to and from our car. We will stay here again.

Room Tip: Get an executive oceanfront room!

Would definitely stay here again, cannot say enough good things - staff and location and room and grounds great. We were upgraded to 434 (platinum with Marriott) and it was the most wonderful room we have ever been in - felt super luxurious - loved it. Planning on returning next year because of our stay here. This was the second stay at a Marriott on this vacation. Next time will spend all our time here.

This hotel is great value for money, we paid extra for the ocean view room as it was our honeymoon. The hotel was clean and the rooms were always cleaned daily. They had a coffee filter machine in the room, but no tea making facilities (for the Brits that like a cuppa!) they did offer complementory tea at reception though. We ate in the hotel a few times, mainly for breakfast (the omelette station is great!), dinner was fine, but a little overpriced. The hotel does have an entertainment programme which as far as we could tell went down well with guests (we usually missed the entertainment as we were eating out most evenings). The staff at the front desk were helpful and booked us a taxi a couple of times when we had excursions booked. If you are coming to Kauai and are fairly active you will need to hire a car to get around. This hotel does have a fairly steep parking charge though at $14 a day!

Room Tip: Ocean view rooms have a great view of the beach and/or swimming pool

Very nice accommodations without feeling stuffy. Ideal location on the island. When I come back to Kauai I will stay here again. Concierge was very helpful in booking our excursions. The only thing the hotel lacked was a microwave in the room. There was one that could be used in the lobby.

Room Tip: Highest floor has the best ocean view.

This was our 3rd Marriott stay during our 2 week vacation. This property was in a great location very central to both north and south shores. Free wifi. $14/day self park. Our room here was the best with the exception of the bed. The king bed was not as comfy as the other 2 hotels for some reason. But the room itself was great. We had the executive oceanfront room. And when they say oceanfront they mean it! Ocean is right there. We slept every night with the doors open to hear the great noise. Room was really big. Had an extra sink outside of the toilet/shower area. The toilet area was really small. Very poor layout in my opinion. If the budget allows, spring for the oceanfront room.

This hotel is located about halfway between the north end and the south end of the island.
My room was a corner unit facing the ocean. The room was small and the balcony just enough for two chars. I recommend requesting room 234 – 235 or 334,335, 336 ot 434, 435, 436. These rooms are much larger and have a great view of the ocean. The lower floors are blocked by the sun in the morning. The upper floors of these rooms give you a great view of the sunrise.
The staff is very friendly. I used the expedia desk to book most of the excursions. Make sure you check the prices with the companies them self before booking them at the hotel. Some of them like the Kipu ranch ATV have better prices if you book online. The difference was about $45 dolars per person. Do you homework.
The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful all the time. The hotel is very clean. I wouyld stay there again. There are several places that offer condo’s which are much larger, the hotel was enough for me since I usually got up at 6 Am and came back around 4 PM.

Room Tip: . I recommend requesting room 234 – 235 or 334,335, 336 ot 434, 435, 436. These rooms are much large...

Stayed for 7 days in April 13 as a result of the reviews here. It was clean, the service was one of the best. Even the groundskeepers were friendly. Had an ocean front view that was stunning. You cannot go wrong staying here. You will love it.

I will stay at this hotel again.
