“Very relaxing”
Reviewed January 6, 2013 via mobile

We spent our first night here upon arriving in Hawaii. The staff was accommodating and extremely friendly. We had both dinner and breakfast at the hotel, both were well prepared and very tasty. The breakfast buffet was a great value for all that it included. We had an ocean view room on the fourth floor with a high vaulted ceiling. The view was beautiful and we left the door open all night to listen to the ocean waves crash on the beach. The bathroom was small and there were some oust keeping issues here black mold in the shower grout, pink mildew on the shower head and some small hairs in the bottom of the tub.
This was a good hotel for a short stay until we moved to our time share for the week.

This is a very comfortable and quiet hotel with a great pool and beach. The staff was friendly and the food was great both in the bar area and the restaurant. Wonderful breakfast buffet. It's also very close to historic Kappa town.

Room Tip: The rooms at the end of the hallways have a better view of the ocean.

In general hotels on the Coconut Coast are less expensive than those in Poipu or Hanalei. The surf is rougher here, but if your not big into ocean water sports it's something to take into consideration when booking.

This hotel is just outside of Kapaa, located off the busy highway but far enough away you can still hear the waves and the birds. The parkling lot is in the front, not along the side of the hotel, iwhich greatly mproves the view, and it is a nice view.

The hotel is very low key. Pool was not crowded, hot tub was large, plenty of lounge chairs on the beach and at the pool. The bar is adjacent to the pool complete with 4 TV's. Get your own drinks and food and bring them poolside.

We ate breakfast here once and lunch once, $18 buffett, food is OK, but there are plenty of restaurants an easy drive or walk away. Happy Hour $6 Mai Tai's and $5 Beers. Nice pool side seating with gas firepit along sideof pool at night, romantic. 3 Hammocks near the bird feeder for interesting relaxed nature watching. Also big cusioned chase lounges, first come first serve, but we had easy access.

Rooms are pretty nice, free Wi-Fi, free tennis, they provide raquets and balls. $10 bike rental all day, can also get $6 rental lounge charis to strap on your back. and find your own beach. We found the hotel beach to be just right.

We spent a day at this hotel. We recommend it. The hotel is on what is in essence a private beach in Kapa’a. We spent several hours at the beach, beginning with sunrise. Because of the surf, it is difficult to swim at the beach. However there is a rock formation near the shore that basically serves as a sea wall. As a result we were able to relax in the water in front of the rocks and do some swimming there.

We rented bikes from the hotel and rode the bike path. It is a short ride from the hotel to the beginning of the bike path, which stretches for miles along the coasts.

Riding the bike path and relaxing at the beach/pool was a very pleasant way to spend our last day in Kauai.

The lobby and rooms were of typical Courtyard configuration and quality. We had no complaints.

My family and I stayed here for 2 weeks over Christmas 2012.

Pros:
-Very clean
-entire staff very friendly and helpful
- very pleasant decor
- pool and hot tub
- work out room
-spa
-gardens were well manicured
-tazo tea in lobby area
-purified water dispenser in lobby area
-laundry facility
-concierge service
-rooms are decorated with heavy wooden doors

Cons:
-pool wasn't heated; everyone went for the hot tub
-no place to put recyclables (had to hand them to the front desk attendant (if you are conscientious)
-mattresses aren't pillow topped
-weather was very windy and the typical rain showers with clouds
-$14.00 a day for parking (perhaps this is average)
-wasn't given my Marriott Rewards points because I booked through a travel agency
-tea isn't available in rooms (You have to go to the lobby area) At the beginning of our stay, tea was available in lobby all day long, then a new policy developed, it was then only available till 9 am. We then purchased Tazo tea bags at the market so we could sleep in but still get tea before going out for the day. But, then a new policy, the tea cups were taken away. No one needs little irritants when on vacation. It seemed that they were on a very strict budget at this facility.
-ordered hot tea at the bar, it came without purified water, in fact, it tasted like residual coffee

Nice hotel in overall. Especially liked the large hot tub. Decent buffet breakfast. The room had excellent ocean view. The surrounds are optimal for short walks. Free tennis rackets was a nice bonus. We played several times during our times.

We stayed at this property from dec 19th to 26th. Upon arrival, check in was pleasant and i was upgraded to a executive oceanfront room as a platinum marriott member. The room is great, clean and nice view of the ocean. Bathroom a bit small. Water pressure, hot water all great.
They have a tennis court, a decent gym room with weight machine.
Pool is great, nice lounging chairs and peaceful enviroment. Pool bar food are great, price ok.
Restaurant food are decent, price from $12 to $18 breakfast. Service is a bit slowler than usual but its hawaii, they all slow lol.
Beach is great, very private, can walk along sandy beach but not great from swimming lots of rocks and barrier along the shores. There are few spots where you can find small lagoon kinda pool for soaking.
Nice thing about this hotel is that both side are empty land with trees , so very private and quite.

Room Tip: Hotel is located at kapaa. Taxi one way is $25 if you dont drive. Walking distance are safeway marke...
