Resort cost can typycally be the highest expense on any given trip, and typycally also be the area where you can get good or bad surprises....a friend of mine booked this for me, a friend I trust....and it was amazing! location is ON the beach in Kapaa/Kauai (BTW Kauai is the BEST!), close to several stores and a few good restaurants cafe, pool is nice, personnel is amazingly friendly and available and the cost - mid-august - extremely affordable (130dollars per double room).
Highly recommended.

My lady and I booked this trip last minute, and decided on this plantation resort after reading the great reviews. Couldn't be happier with the experience and the amenities. Our ocean-view room was cool, comfortable, and CLEAN. With BBQ grills by the pool, I was able to serve up filet mignon, roast corn, and grilled flat bread and dine on the balcony table and chairs. Guess who got extra special attention that night?! From the extra friendly staff to the gorgeous ocean view, the place did not disappoint. Mahalo to everyone at Aston Islander on the Beach!

Room Tip: Ocean view rooms may be in reality a partial ocean view, but no bother because it's still worth...

Our family of 4 from Wyoming enjoyed the Aston Islander. Clean environment, close to Coconut Market which had everything we needed...gifts, groceries, activities. The east facing beach made for spectacular sunrises. Friendly General Manager gave island-wise advice.

We stayed in condo 214 for two weeks in July 2013 and were very happy with it. The interior of the condo is very tasteful and in excellent condition. It even provides great beach towels and two sets of foldable beach chairs. Upon our arrival, we even found a sweet welcome package waiting for us – a very nice surprise. The WIFI internet was very fast and reliable.
Kristen was extremely helpful and thoughtful. When a tropical storm had been predicted to hit Kaua’i on the day of our flight to Honolulu, she wrote us an email to inform us about this and that we might want to check if our flight was still on. In case that our flight would be cancelled, she offered us to that we could stay another couple of nights. We once managed to get ourselves locked out of the condo on a Sunday night and Kristen arrived within 15 minutes to let us back in. We would definitely recommend this condo for anyone visiting Kaua’i.

My wife and I couldn't have been more pleased with the location, amenities and service we received from private Condo 158 owner Mary Ransbury at Aston's Islander at the Beach. It has a good-sized comfortable bed (I wouldn't want to bring a couple of kids here, but for a couple its great), periodic parking problems that occurred mainly at night were easily solved by the security guard at the adjoining Cocoanut Marketplace.Free internet service was reliable, the Managers special at happy hour at the Tiki Bar at the pool was a buck a beer proving that you can catch a deal on food and beverages in Hawaii. Just a little piece of paradise on the Garden Isle of Hawaii, Kauai, try it once and I'll bet you'll be back, I know we'll be back.

Room Tip: We liked the bottom floor, the rooms in the 100's, especially the 'lanais' (balcony or v...

Check in time is not until 3pm so it was lucky we decided to just go in and check with the hotel on our way past. They had no record of our booking, despite my having a paper trail of emails, and they had my credit card details! Anyway they assured us that they would sort it and off we went, When we arrived back at 3pm we were initially pleased to find we had been given an ocean view room. The room itself was old and worn looking - even had a strip of tape across the floor so we wouldn't trip on the power cord! We arrived on a Saturday and we had decided to go over to the hotel next door for dinner, but before going over there we had a bit of a session at our Pool Bar where they had a happy hour going with $1 beers and $3 cocktails. Met lots of people here, young and old! Turned out to be a good thing that we did this as they closed this bar down the next day for renovations! On the Monday morning we were rudely awoken by the builders at 7.30am! They not only made a racket, but they parked their vehicles right in front of our room! We did complain about this, but nothing was done. This happened every morning we were there. The noise from the builders was incredible making our room totally inhabitable during the day! The pool didn't open until 9am and then one had to fight with the builders for space. We were given a small discount off our room rate, but this was not sufficient for us to recommend staying here. We had booked months in advance and feel we should have been warned about the renovations that were taking place.

Room Tip: Just don't go there!

Thank you for sharing your experience while staying at the Aston Islander on the Beach. I apologize for any inconvenience you experienced while staying with us. We understand that it is never a "good time" for renovations and as a result, we are very specific about the hours of construction and allocated space for construction equipment and vehicles. For future reference, we will monitor these issues closely to ensure whatever projects that are taking place at the Resort, doesn't affect our guests experience. Please consider joining us in celebrating the opening of the Sand Bar at the Islander. We are proud of the complete renovations of our Pool Bar which has benefitted from new cabinets, counter tops, lighting and plumbing. Additionally, enjoy watching some of your favority sporting events on our 55" LED TV while our fantastic staff mixes up one of your favorite drinks. I hope you consider the Aston Islander on the Beach on your next visit to Kauai.

Mahalo,

Kaniela Neves

My husband and I enjoyed our 2 day stay at this condo and stayed another 2 days at another condo due to change of plans from July to August. Overall we enjoyed our stay at the condo which came fully stocked in the kitchen with paper towels to napkins and plates/cups/mugs and mini-refrig. and microwave and toaster oven for your convenience. We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary!

Room Tip: We checked in on August 7th, with an excellent ocean front view and location.
