I used to like this property, but has suffered from old age and some neglect. Very nice plantation feel and good location to explore the north and south. Close to airport, Safeway, Longs Drugs, and some restaurants. Rooms are small but ok and furniture is adequate. Pool area is small along with hot tub. Desperately in need of upgrades. The worst? Parking in the evening. If you don't have a parking spot by late afternoon, forget it. You won't get one. You'll get no help from the staff.

Aloha!

Thank you for sharing your experience while staying at the Aston Islander on the Beach. We continue to pride ourselves on offering an affordable quality experience for all of our guests. We recently have continued a renovation project in which all of the Lanai's in our buildings are structurally reinforced, replaced, sealed and painted. Additionally, most of our condominium's have recently upgraded to a Lanai furniture package that compliments our beautiful grounds. We continue to update the interior of our unit's whenever necessary in an effort to provide our guests with the the standard of quality expected while staying at an Aston property. I hope Aston Islander on the Beach continues to be a choice destination in your future travel plans.

We just returned from our first trip to Hawaii. We have never had such an enjoyable experience and Aston Islander on the Beach is a major reason why. The staff was so courteous and sincere, the facility is amazingly comfortable... walked in and felt at home. Clean, comfortable and you get your own private beach (practically speaking). The bartender Jason at The Sand Bar (at the pool) was SO informative and helpful, learned of so many free activities to do. The concierge (Tina) was also very honest and guided us to well priced and enjoyable activities that fit us. For the money - if you want to really relax and feel at ease, then Aston Islander on the Beach is definitely the place to visit. We can't wait for our return trip next year - we are hooked!

Room Tip: This place is like a small concert venue, not a bad seat in the house. Of course the seaside rooms are best, but the whole facility is on the beach - not a bad room.

We booked a 3rd floor oceanfront room through Aston and were pleased with our room and view. We had stayed here two years ago and really enjoyed it and knew to request the floor we wanted at the time we booked it. The room may not have been as fancy and updated as the higher end resorts, but it was clean, nicely decorated, and everything worked, except the TV which was fixed the next day. Parking was no problem because we were usually back from site seeing by 4:00. Happy hour at the hotel’s Sand Bar offered a good opportunity to meet other guests and just relax. A lot of the people we meet had stayed there before. We found the location of Aston Islander on the Beach ideal for getting around the Island and would recommend this hotel to those who don’t want to spend an arm and leg at an expensive resort.

My husband and I stayed here on our first trip to Hawaii. I just want to point out that is not a 5 star hotel , so don't expect it to be! We upgraded to an oceanfront room and I would highly recommend it. That is one reason I picked this hotel, we could afford the oceanfront room here. My husband was completely satisfied with my choice and neither of us had any complaints. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, had a large bathroom, had plenty of coffee to drink out on the patio every morning to watch the sunrise. The employees were friendly, housekeeping was efficient and had no problem coming back at a later time if you were still in your room. As my title says...the grounds were beautiful! Lots of orchids, hibiscus, lilies and many others I can't even identify. If we ever make it back to Kauai...we will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Splurge and go for the oceanfront room...it's worth the upgrade. Sit and watch the sunrise every morning. You won't be disappointed.

This was our second stay at this hotel within a year. Glad to report the service was still awesome. Front desk staff was very helpful and friendly! Our room was great. Clean rooms, beautiful property, Convenient to restaurants and activities. Definitely worth the oceanfront upgrade, but most rooms have an ocean view

NOTE: Pool bar remains a great attraction on the property, Jason is still by far our favorite bartender we've encountered in all our trips to the islands! Very knowledgeable on libations and uber creative!! Best piña coladas too! We'll be back soon!
