It was okay, but we were disappointed with the beach. Too many rocks to swim. No housecleaning until the third day. The workers were nice when we checked in. It was decorated with antiques, but had a slight smell to the wood. The room facing the parking lot had a small patio and not much space outside with a view of the bush on the first floor.

Room Tip: Choose a room facing the ocean. We would not go back, but it was okay for one time. We had to dri...

I'd say this an average or below average place. I wouldn't come back here again.

Pros: The pool was nice and the beach right behind the property was very nice too. Safeway right across the street. The concierge was helpful.

Cons: Main hotel lobby staff was less than friendly. Our air conditioning didn't work half the time. They did refund some money after we complained a few times and argued that we weren't going to pay the full rate. The pool area was hard to get into - the code didn't always work and many people complained about that but there was always someone who let you in. The towel system is so awkward. They only give you one towel and you have to save it and take it back to your room. They will only exchange the towel so if someone took your towel while you were in the pool then you're out of luck. Also, we had asked for 2 condos with 2 double beds and only one of the condos had that. The pullout couch in the livingroom was HORRIBLE! It actually hurt and you could feel the springs when tried to sleep on it.

We didn't eat at the restaurant here so can't comment on that.

We stayed here for 10 days on our honeymoon and our room was amazing. We booked a one bedroom condo with a full kitchen and washer/dryer, but they gave us a two bedroom condo instead with all of the same amenities! Crazy beautiful! Brand new kitchen with high end appliances, three full bathrooms (which was a little bit much for just the two of us, but still amazing), two lanai's (outdoor areas/porch), and the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on! The rest of the hotel was great too. Awesome pool, with three hot tubs, and two water slides. There were a lot of kids staying at the hotel, so not quite the most romantic setting but luckily we like children. Would highly recommend this place for anyone staying on Kauai, because it was beautiful, but also because it was the perfect location if you plan on exploring the whole island.

We have stayed here on 3 occasions. The rooms are very nice, the location convenient, and the grounds very nice. There is one negative to consider. Rooms facing the street & parking lot in Buildings C & D are extremely noisy at night. Building C facing the parking lot had partyers passing in and out until 12:30 am in the parking lot, from the Oasis bar on the property. Then staff leaves and hangs out (also seemed drunk at times) in the parking lot. Building D faces the road, and for some reason "BoomBox" cars are a big deal on this otherwise beautiful island. There is also a fire station across the road. If you want peace, and to sleep at night with balcony doors open, stay away from these 2 buildings. The ocean and pool view room had none of these issues, so pick your rooms carefully, and you will have a great stay. On this stay, in building C, we had a large group partying on their lanai 4 nights in a row, the first night until 1:30 AM. Security, for some reason, had little effect, after complaints, as the party would just start up again, even though 10:00 pm to 8:00 am quiet hours are posted. Prices are too high to ruin your nights in one of these buildings.

Having come from Maui (my first trip to Hawaii) in February and then back Kauai in June I had at least a basis of what to expect in Hawaii. This was a trip that we had won through Alaska Air and aside from picking the resort we were to stay at, we didn't know what to expect. Upon arrival we were told that our room was not yet ready, so we went and took care of our marriage license stuff with Kamika Smith down the road, stopped in the (really well located!) Safeway across the street and headed back to the condo to get into our room and relax. It was very muggy out and we were pretty worn out from the flight. Our room still wasn't ready & we subtly expressed our disappointment. The staff provided us with a gift certificate for the Oasis so we could enjoy a few cocktails while we waited. Once our room was finally ready we went in. And WOW. It was beautiful. You will not be disappointed. We were in a 1 bedroom in the C building, overlooking the parking lot. The view did not bother us one bit! We didn't use our lanais, but we didn't need to. Parking is ample (& free), which was a huge plus. Location was great, very central! The pool-- We did not use any of the provided grills, it was just the two of us & we basically were beach bums the entire time. The set up around the pool is amazing, the landscaping provides a really nice broken up pool area and we never did feel crowded. We picked 2 chairs on a nook right on the lazy river edge and basked in the sun there. Aside from the occasional swimmer by and a few kids that splashed us a little bit, it was really private and relaxing. If we felt like we didn't want to bother with any people we moved our bums down to the beach and laid in the chairs there. Don't expect to swim in the ocean here, it's not suitable- that's what the pool is for. & this didn't bother us one bit. The food at the Oasis is over rated, the drinks too. and spendy. That was the only downfall. Aside from that, we will be back to this resort in June of 2013 for our one year anniversary.

We had a great stay at this great location. Everything was very nice, except for the fact that out of 4 BBQs only two burners short off worked. We hoped to be BBQing frequently to save money and enjoy the benefits of the condo. We know a lot of people were complaining, but they we not fixed. Too Bad.

We will return, but will make sure that everything is working first.

Once again we stayed at Waipoili Beach Resort and had a great time. They continue to take great care of the property. This time we rented from an owner D101 so we knew exactly where we would be located. The location of D101 is perfect 10 steps to the pool and workout area and peekaboo views ot the ocean. The condo was spotlessly clean we had no issues at all with the unit. We also ate at the onsite restaurant The Oasis and had a great meal which is reviewed in the restaurant section under the title Perfect. Do not hesitate staying here the location on the island is great evenly spaced betwwen the north and the south. We like the easy going pace of Kapaa town.
