Not a fancy building but the food and service is great. So much better than the super tourist places.

What can we say - we loved it! It seems like we roll the dice many times on vacation, and usually end up losing, but not in this case. Our first night in Kauai we took a chance, and you can't beat it for the price. The food is excellent! Both my husband and I loved it. It's not fancy, but there is good service, good food, and all at a good price - who needs anything else. We recommend the chicken florentine panini and pesto pasta. If you still have room for dessert
(which is hard since you receive a large serving) - their tiramisu is

This is not an upscale italian restaurant. However, what it is is a small neighborhood spot that serves good pasta and entrees at a very reasonable price. If you go with that expecation, you will be pleased. We were spending $125 ++ each night at great Kauai Restaurants and we wanted a good pasta fix without breaking the bank. This fit the bill. Pesto sauce is excellent. Petsto chicken was as well. The marinara sauce is reallly good - made from the wonderful tomatoes grown on the island. Salads were excellent as well. Bread and dipping oil was excellent. I highly recommend it if you go in with the right expectations. They also had some interesting specials. The chef at the Lihue restaurant came from Roy's which shows from how the specials read.

Ciao !

My family's favorite restaurant here on the Garden Island. We have eaten at the Kapaa Kauai Pasta 4 times, Lihue (just opened a few months ago) 3 times. One mediocre meal, all the rest were great. Nice waithelp and decor with excellent food keeps us coming back.

Small restaurant, does not take reservations, limited seating, menu limited to spaghettini type pasta with choice of 3 sauces, BYOB with $5 corkage fee (purchase wine at Safeway or Longs just 4 doors away) , very, very nice, friendly service. The only meats offered on the menu were chicken or shrimp, then your choice of marinara, pesto or alfredo sauce (one person requested garlic-butter sauce to go with shrimp & they couldn't do it). Nice salad choices, side order of garlic bread for $1.50 were 4 pieces of 1" x 3" slices, there was also lasagne, eggplant or chicken parmessan.

Special of the day was ribeye steak w/garlic roasted potatoes (no pasta) & nice steamed vegies. Our party of 5, 4 of us ordered different items from the menu & one ordered the steak special.
The only good meal was the steak which coincidently did not include pasta. All of the pastas were cooked beyond
"al dente", sauces were weak, eggplant parm was doughy & the meager amount of melted mozzerella cheese on it tasted like it was processed stuff . The grilled chicken breast was dry & just seasoned with salt & pepper, grilled shrimp was served on small mound of pasta with 5 medium shrimp on a bamboo skewer (not an attractive presentation).

Thank goodness the desserts were delicious, 2 different creme brulees were divine served chilled with warm, crusty burnt sugar topping & tiramisu cheese cake not too bad.

If you have to wait any amount of time for a table at this restaurant, go elsewhere to any of the other places a few steps from this establishment.
