“Fries to die for”
Reviewed May 28, 2014

I've eaten at both Kauai Pasta locations. I much prefer the Kapaa location. It has a larger menu selection, including Parmesan/Truffle oil fries that seriously are to die for. The decor here is simple, not at all a fancy place with any ambience to speak of, but for great food and reasonable prices, it hits the mark. I always enjoy their panini sandwiches and their pesto pasta. Even a non-salad lover like me thoroughly craves their caesar salad. Portions are generous at this friendly eatery. A good indication of how great a restaurant is can be seen by noting the number of locals who eat there regularly. Myself and many others who live on the island count this place as one of our favorites when we're in the mood for a simple but well prepared Italian meal.

“Wonderful Italian food!”
Reviewed May 28, 2014

The restaurant is nondescript inside but we went there for the food! My husband and I had a great dinner at Kaua'a Pasta! We didn't make a reservation but arrived at 6:00 and were immediately greeted, seated, given water and several menus. These included the wine list, specials, regular and bar menus. A small loaf of warm bread and butter were served after we ordered. My husband got a Caesar salad and bruschetta, and I got the eggplant parmesan. The portions were generous. There was something really tasty in the meat sauce (maybe ginger or cumin?) that really gave it a unique flavor. Everything was served at the right temperature and the waiter asked several times if the food was OK, and if we wanted anything else. We would definitely eat there again!

“Exceptional food, service ... and consistently so.”
Reviewed May 26, 2014

A friend recommended Kauai Pasta in Lihue. We ate there and it was superb...appetizers, salads and main courses, and a fine bread pudding among other desserts.

We stayed in Kapaa which had same restaurant. Found out that the couple who owned them split up and each took one of the restaurants. Despite whatever personal differences, their care for their menu/quality and service was intact, so we were thrilled to find that the Kapaa restaurant was as good as the Lihue site. The Lihue site had a bit more feel/look of high quality Italian place. Kapaa's decor average but more room there and food was as good as Lihue's.

We love food (Portland Oregon being a foodie-town) and this venue provided excellent service, consistent and delicious meals. The rib-eye was exceptional, the various pasta meals we tried very smartly seasoned and totally satisfying. Fine array of appetizers. My wife liked her dirty martini with pepperoni flavoring. Coconut mojito was great as were the local brews.

3 out of our 9 dinners were here...that's not usual so that tells the tale from us.

“Unexpected Deliciousness”
Reviewed May 26, 2014

Our party of 5 all ordered something different -clams, eggplant parmesan, fettuccine Alfredo, chicken pesto- everything was delicious. A of our dishes were Flavorful, properly cooked and at perfect temperature. The portions were generous, the service prompt and friendly. It does not look like much from the outside but it's a cute and comfortable restaurant with delicious well priced food.

“Great Italian Food”
Reviewed May 24, 2014

Staff was attentive enough: filled our water, brought our food and later our check, nothing above an beyond, but absolutely nothing bad either. A couple of vegetarian options for me to choose from. Food presentation was nice and had good blend of flavors. I had the pesto pasta and my husband had chicken parmesan. Mine was very good and his was reportedly "above average". We split the asparagus with melted gorgonzola cheese side dish (mutual: Yum!!). This said, I would not hesitate to recommend it to others, and would seek this place out if I ever get to visit the island again.
