We're in Kauai for a month and every week includes a visit to KK for breakfast. From the moment you walk in you feel welcome with the service being super friendly & attentive. Atmosphere is that of an old diner. Ample quantities of food and prepared as ordered (corn bread is very good & bacon is crisp - as it should be).

I don't know about you, but sometimes I just want some comfort food served in ridiculously large portions. Kountry Kitchen satisfied this craving. I went with the special of tamale and eggs. Not sure if they always have this, but it was insanely good. First, we're talking a sweet corn tamale stuffed with shredded pork that is the size of a brick. Then they slap on a fried egg because it just makes sense. Finally, everything is smothered in a rich poblano cream sauce. Fresh made flour tortillas on the side to mop up all the excess flavor bits. I needed a long hike to walk this bad boy off but it was so worth it.

Highly recommend!

This is one of those tiny rough looking places you would pass by….but DON’T Breakfast was hardy, Mango juice (who knew), waitresses are a little gruff but with those tourists who act like their back home on the mainland, and I’d be gruff too....

Very ono - we start talking about breakfast at the Kountry Kitchen when we begin to pack our bags in Connecticut. Big portions of a wide assortment of egg dishes (Benedicts and omelets) as well as pancakes, waffles and local specials, all delicious.

Expect a little bit of wait before you get seated at Kountry Kitchen. They don't take reservations, so just go and put your name in. We waited about 30 mins but we didn't regret the wait.

The staff was super friendly, and had a good sense of humor. We ordered the macadamia nut pancakes and loco moco. Those plates were giant! Pancakes had macadamia nuts in them and they had regular syrup and coconut syrup on the table- coconut syrup was the way to go! Really tasty. Loco Moco was great, I subbed the hamburger patties with Kalua pork. Breakfast came with a side of half of a fresh papaya- which I thought was the highlight of the breakfast! Nothing beats fresh island papaya!
