“Expensive and crowded”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 24, 2013

We stuck to the soup because the price was too high for other menu items. Seemed a crazy choice since it was 80 degrees out. At least, the plzace had air conditioning. Very crowded, noisy, with long wait unless sit at the bar.

“This place is jumping ... and the food is good too”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 13, 2013

Every year when we visit Kauai we look forward to eating at Kintaro. We went on a weekday night and the place was jumping with several parties and persons at the bar. What makes this place shine is the food... it pretty good. The sushi is fresh and prepared perfectly... but then again, this is Hawaii and the fish ought to be fresh. We always over order because we forget that with some meals extras are provided... like cold noodles and salads and soup... by the time you finish those and sushi or entrees come you're pretty full... We'll be back :)

“Awesome everytime ! ”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 4, 2013 via mobile

I ate at kintaro last night and it was awesome . It was always awesome IMO. The price is great for Kauai . It's relaxing . Fun . And the food is very good . My wife love this place .the waiters are nice. It really have a nice local / Hawaiian style feel to the whole place. There is a reason is so busy. Food is always fresh. And drinks are very reasonably priced .

“Good sushi & really good prices”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 4, 2013

This place was packed on a Friday night but they let us sit at the bar & eat. Bartender wasn't super friendly but made great drinks. The sushi menu isn't huge but really well priced compared to other places on the island...under $80 to sushi & drinks for two! Sushi was pretty good but not great (but we are spoiled) but really fresh.

“Excellent sushi and GREAT service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 3, 2013

We have eaten at Kintaro before, and knew that their sushi is superb, and an excellent value.

This last time, I left my credit card at the restaurant. Unbelievably, they tracked me down at the local hotel we were staying at, and had hotel management leave a message that Kintaro had found my card.

This is the kind of above and beyond service that you hardly find any more.

We HIGHLY recommend Kintaro.
