Perfect place to eat breakfast in Hawaii. Great food, nice people, and unusual dishes that are absolutely delicious. We liked it so much we got up very early on our last day to have breakfast there before our flight home, so it would be our last meal in Hawaii.
Getting there early was a good way to avoid the crowds and really get a chance to interact with the staff, who are very sweet. Some people have complained about the service, but I think that might just be a symptom of being there during the rush. Get there early for the real experience! They open at 7am.
Our favorite dishes were the "Local Boy" omelette (which other people have mentioned). It is made with kim chee and housemade sausage, but has some sauce that makes it really delicious. Make sure you get the fried rice as the side. My wife loved the "Garden Patch". I also enjoyed the Aloha smoothie and getting a half a papaya as a side dish.
The shave ice stand just outside the restaurant was also very good.
We only ate breakfast here, but the menu was extensive and I wish we had been able to try the pancakes, which looked really yummy. Nice to have Hawaiian dishes mixed in with more traditional breakfast standards. You can't go wrong here.
