We walked the pathway everyday of our stay in Kapaa. It was really wonderful to be able to walk for such a distance. Only thing is going north there are not any public washrooms, and if you go south there is one that I found, but people tended to hang around there, so I didnt use that one.

Wonderful seaside trail! Popular, convenient, but spacious and quiet. Hope they keep extending it! Thank you!

If there's a more pleasant bike ride on earth, I don't know where it is. You can rent bikes from numerous places in downtown Kapaa--we used Coconut Cruisers who were fantastic--and then just take off down the path. You can go north or south--it's about 4+ miles long. Northbound from Kapaa is really scenic. It's paved, easy biking that little kids can do. There are joggers, walkers, roller bladers and other bikers but it's not crowded whatsoever. There are numerous places we stopped just to admire the coastline and take pics because it's so beautiful out there. Give yourself about 2-3 hours of leisurely biking. They are constantly building on the path so I can't wait to go back a few years from now and see how much further we can go. It's relaxing but you get good exercise! This is such a low cost, perfect-for-families activity that really shows you another gorgeous side of Kauai.

We started our ride at 10am and it was slightly overcast so the temperature was perfect for our incredible ride. We rented our coasters (one speed) for $5.00 per hour! (I am fairly sure this is the going rate at all the bike rentals along the path.) We rode from end to end (about 4 miles) stopping numerous times for photos and the views. Saw countless whale spouts and incredible scenic vistas. This is a breezy, fun ride and we were back at the rental in an easy hour and half. What a perfect outing and only $15.00 for both of us. Can't wait to do it again.

I am not sure whether to review this under East Shore Path or Kauai Path. But anyway, this is a bike path that run 4.5 miles each way along shoreline. It is paved, mostly flat, an easy ride. You pass a number of scenic beaches and signs which tells about wildlife along the shores. We got 2 bikes for 2 hours for $25 which was very reasonable in my opinion.
