Very good breakfast selection. We liked the food and location. Just walking distance from our cottage. The service was lackluster.

We were in Kapa'a for five days, staying at the Aston Islander on the Beach, so we ate at Eggberts each morning, but only because it was convenient.
The food wasn't bad but it wasn't good, either...just average, but expensive for what it is. The two egg breakfast, with hash browns or rice, choice of meat and pathetic toast, was over $9. I do recommend the Portuguese sausage, though. It was really good. A couple mornings I ordered two pigs in a blanket (buttermilk pancake wrapped around a tiny sausage link). Too much pancake to too little sausage. They offer maple or coconut syrup. The coconut syrup was very sweet but really good.
Eggbert's used to share space with Hula Girl, which was open at night, while Eggbert's closes at 2:00 p.m. Hula Girl is gone , but their bar remains, so the inside of Eggbert's is a casual bar/dining area and the small patio is outside (our preferred seating), even though we shared the space with pigeons.
Service is "iffy"and refills almost impossible to get. The wait staff is friendly, just not very attentive.

A nice place for breakfast with plenty of seating. They have a sweet coconut syrup that's delightful but don't order their French toast to use it on unless you like your French toast batter to be like your pork chop batter.

On the Kuhio Hwy, open early to let you get a great breakfast then travel to any part of the island. Pancakes on the Pig in a blanket are large and delicious and filling. Egg white omelet full of vegetables and the request for in buttered toast was followed. Stay later and shop the Coconut Marketplace. Good value. Menu difficult to read.

This is Hula girl also! A Must when on the island! Great outdoor atmosphere. Great food! They make you feel like part of the Kauai family!
