“Good local inexpensive food”

Good tasty food, well worth the visit, make fresh food daily. They have a neat Milkshake machine which sort of allows you to make your own milkshake for a reasonable price $4.50, tasty milkshakes in a cup. There are a couple of shave ice places as well in the area.

“Great for a post-hike meal”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 28, 2014

This is a local favorite. Stop in for a lunch plate – but get there early. I heard the lalau is amazing, but it can be sold out before 11am. I got roast pork. It comes with rice and a side, like mac salad. It was a great lunch after hiking the Sleeping Giant Trail.

“One of the best plate lunches!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 11, 2014

Mostly all their plate lunch options and specials are always soooo good. My favorite is, of course, the fried chicken, kalua pig, beef stew, ham hawk, and their poke options! Love the lil cafe too.

“Great value!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 3, 2014

I had the sesame poke which was not only delicious, but was a great value for the amount you get for $6.95. We also got a little of the shredded pork because it looked good and we wanted to try it, and it was really, really good. There were more local people there than tourists, so I felt like we least got one authentic meal while we were there. If you're looking for great food at a great value, then this is the place for you.

“Get there early”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 2, 2014

We went twice. the first time we had laulau which was great and sweet and sour lunchmeat (spam) plate lunches. The sweet and sour was quite salty, the pineapple was inedible for me. The macaroni potato salad is wonderful. I could have eaten nothing but that. If you want soy sauce for your rice you have to put it on there ( or for your sushi) they don't have packets of sauce to take.
