“Excellent Food. Too bad about the music”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2009

We went to the Eastside this week. The meal was absolutely top notch. We had 3 different fishes and a filet at the table and everyone raved about their meal. The desserts were excellent as well. Service was attentive.

The only real downside was the guitar player seemed to think it was a concert with food as opposed to a restaurant with music. Once he started playing it was almost impossible to have any sort of conversation. Even after we asked that he dial it back a notch he was so loud he was giving me a headache. The place is just too small for amplified music.

We'll defn go back, but not on any night with music.

“We will return again and again!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2009

We headed to The Eastside based on the reviews from our fellow "TripAdvisors." Since we were staying at Poipu Beach (South), we had a 30 minute drive to Kapaa -- an easy distance in the SF Bay Area, but something of a drive on Kauai. No matter, we would return again and again (and will) for the tasty Pacific Rim menu and the wonderful upscale (yet casual) dining experience. Our table enjoyed the calamari and the baby greens salad. The Potato-encrusted Mahi Mahi was dining perfection! The Fish and Chips was less satisfying. Service and ambiance were great. We thoroughly enjoyed the live music although it was a bit loud for the space and could be toned down just a bit.

“Delicious, creative food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 19, 2009

This is a nice little restaurant in old town Kapaa on Hwy 56. The menu and wine list is limited, but what they served were excellent. The freebie appetizer is boiled edamame in sasame oil with red chili oil, which was yummy. My wife and I weren't very hungry so we ordered 5 pupus to share - coconut soup, crab and scallop eggroll, potstickers, oatmeal soft-shell crab and caprese. The first 4 were simply outstanding, while the caprese was okay, which is probably because one can easily get better versions of this dish in the mainland. While we didn't order any entrees, the portion looked to be quite big. We highly recommend this restaurant.

“One of the vest reartuants on Kaui, but noisy too.”

Great and creative food, but do the really need musicians with amplifiers in such a small space?

“Great Food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 15, 2009

A great new restaurant in Kapaa. The meal was great, very attentive service. The pineapple fried rice was wonderful! It's right in Old Town Kapaa, and worth a visit if you're looking for more upscale food in a classy, yet casual setting.
