Me and my husband just got back from Kauai, this resort was amazing. I do not understand how anyone can write a negative review about this property. I would highly recommend it. It is so amazing there. I would go back there again and again. :)

This resort has it all...great location, beautifully manicured grounds, wonderful accommodating staff, well-appointed rooms, and comfortable beds all at a fantastic price! Not to mention the restaurant, pool, hot tub, and fitness center are great! When we arrived, our room wasn't ready. No fault of the resort...We arrived an hour before check-in and the reception staff apologized and invited us to have a drink at the poolside bar. We accepted and had a relaxing drink on the chaise lounges looking out at the beautiful ocean. Within a half hour, our cell phone rang and the ocean view room was ready. Don't worry about booking a garden view room because all rooms have a view of the ocean. Relaxing on your lanai looking over to the ocean is what it's all about. Right when you arrive, you know you are in the tropics, the grounds, with the beautiful tropical foliage and hammocks hanging between the trees throughout just screams Hawaii. The food at the restaurant is gourmet all the way, you must try the fried calamari. Be sure to book a reservation it is busy. Our service was a little slow but once again the resort offered a comp dessert for both me and my husband (which were delicious) Mahalo Steve! Don't think because it's so cheap that it's not going to be a 5-star resort because that's what's so great about it. The location is halfway between, Poipu to the south and Princeville to the North so if you want a central location this is it. The marketplace across the street is wonderful to walk around and get food or souvenirs. The beach down the way is pristine and wonderful for romantic moonlight walks. The resort has thought of everything, even small gathering areas where you can grill your own food and sit and eat your meal while overlooking the ocean. The pool is relaxing with its warm water and cool waterfall. This is the best kept secret of the island. I can't give Kauai Coast Resort at the Beachboy a more raving review. We will be back and it won't be too soon for me. Mahalo!

Tip: best guidebook is the "the ultimate Kauai guidebook: Kauai Revealed". Recommend Bubba Burgers and Scotty's Barbecue.

We have just returned from a two week vacation in Kauai. We stayed at this resort as we had traded our timeshare weeks for this vacation ,and we prefer having full kitchen facilities as an option to dining out every night. We found the staff at this resort very friendly and accomodating from check in to check out. They seemed to really want to please us and ensure our vacation was a good one.The unit we had was on the 3rd floor and we enjoyed the many amenities included with the one bedroom suite. We had a large deck with doors from either the bedroom or living room, two TV's ,and a bonus was the fridge with the built in ice maker. It was very convenient, as was the in suite washer and dryer.
The grounds were immaculate, the pool, although not very large, was always spotless and available for a cooling dip in the heat of the day or evening. A pool side bar and grill was handy and a great spot for a chat with other visiting guests from around the world. We enjoyed morning walks along the beach paths that ran along many of the oceanfront resorts there.
We were within walking distance of grocery stores ,shops and restaurants as well .Only negatives -the tennis courts are now gone,we had hoped to play some games, but did other things instead , and they have no elevators which didn't bother us, but others may find it a bother climbing stairs in the heat. We defintely plan to return to this quiet little Island and will be staying at the Kauai Coast again without hesitation.

We've been visiting Kauai for years -renting houses or staying in hotels. This year we opted for the Kauai Coast and we were glad we did. We had a one bedroom apartment with full kitchen. large divided bathroom (toilet and tub separated by pocket door) and washer/dryer. The kitchen was furnished with everything we needed to make simple meals. The place was immaculate and well maintained. We had breakfast every morning on the balcony overlooking the garden and ocean. What a lovely setting! The Kauai Coast also has our absolute favorite restaurant, the Hukilau Lanai. Great news is that you can order anything from the restaurant to go which is really nice when you've come from the beach and don't feel like cooking or going out. A great value, great location, great place to stay

Room Tip: We had a garden view - but still able to see ocean.

This was my first trip to Kauai and this resort. Cannot say enough good things. Unit was beautiful. We were in the Blue Hawaii building on the ground floor. While no balcony, our 2 patio doors opened right onto the greenbelt and yet felt surprisingly private. Location is in great spot for access to the whole island though we did sit through a pretty horrific traffic jam by the airport that took over 2 hours to get through. I am already booked to come back with my children and granddaughter as all I could think about was playing with her in the little kids pool and sandbox while I let the big kids go do the exotic stuff!!!
