Just happened to see this place on our way to Waimea Canyon. Tucked above a chain pizza place we found a great locals spot for Italian food. Cute place. The owners a very friendly and greet you at your table and explain the specials. Delicious bread and a menu with so much variety. Vegetarians and carnivores can dine together!

One of the downsides to spending considerable time in the beloved Garden State is the relative absence of independent restaurants dedicated to good European cuisine. There are highly capitalized mega hotel restaurants, that are extractive in their impact on your wallet as well as your spirit. I sometimes feel as though I am just temporarily occupying a cog on their corporate machinery - at my own expense! So, it was gratifying to experience an independent establishment dedicated to creating excellent Italian food and to truly professional service. We were there recently for dinner and found the place firing on all cylinders! Ambiance, wine, food and service were all happening! We chose a very obscure beguiling red Italian wine that supported the structure of our meals throughout the courses. The ingredients were all high quality, freshly sourced and carefully prepared, bright clean balanced sauces, not overly rich or concentrated.
The shared dessert was the easily the finest experienced in Kaua'i. The upbeat waiter knew the entire menu and recipe preparation in fine detail, was a wealth of knowledge, shared interesting insights and was obviously proud of their offerings. It is hard to find a truly professional waiter these days. Given the level of everything, the tariff was quite modest - especially by Kaua'i.standards. We left with that special rare glow you feel after being well taken care of during a superior European meal. Do not miss,

I'm not sure if we caught them on a bad night, but Pomodoro was always fun to go to as to the hostess, waiters were enjoyable and there was a cense of an all around family warm atmosphere. but this last time, we were just sent to a table. our waiter seemed distracted all night and even forgot some orders. Overall a disappointment as we took friends.

The food is still quite good but nothing special for the price.

We were headed back from a drive to waimea canyon and remembered that the ultimate guide book wrote that Pomodoro was the best Italian on the island, so we decided to stop. We were in shorts and a little concerned about being under dressed but upon arrival the owner welcomed us and said you are just fine, come in. The atmosphere was cozy and romantic even with our two kids in tow:) The food is unbelievable!! My husband actually said that the lasagne was the best he has ever had!! The service was just as amazing as the food!! They even had gluten free pasta for me!! I had the Alfredo with gluten free noodles and it was wonderful!!! Also, their wine list was was diverse with a lovely Chilean Cabernet that was so smooth. The owner was working and constantly checking on everyone to make sure that the meal and service was good. There is a reason they are the number one Italian on the island!

My wife, son and I went here for dinner. We've been to Kauai several times and never ate here before. Boy did we miss out. By far, the best Italian food we've had on Kauai. The sauces were tasty, the pasta "al dente" and the bread warm and fresh. All served with true Aloha from our server.
