“wonderful relaxing healing energy”
Reviewed November 6, 2012

A great place to visit. Open for tours the second and fourth Sundays of the month or by appointment. 88 shrines constructed on a path winding up a steep hillside on a site that was sacred to many different religions and was restored by volunteers. Recent groundbreaking for a Hall of Compassion--it should be finished soon--seems to have magnified the energy and there are more and more stories of healing and pain relief being reported. a terrific experience!

“Peaceful and spiritual”
Reviewed October 6, 2012

My husband and I visited Lawai International Center and were amazed by the spirit and hospitality of the volunteers who amazingly acquired this beautiful site, renovated the shrines and now keep it so beautiful. There was a wonderful reception upon arriving, we were served tea and cakes and made to feel very welcome. They gave us an orientation of the site, and then my husband sat and meditated, while I walked up the hill to see all of the shrines. It was a very peaceful and spiritual experience.

We had a wonderful afternoon at the Lawai International Center. It is such a peaceful environment amidst an already serene island. The founder is an amazing woman with an incredible vision.

“Every other Sunday afternoon-check out this experience”
Reviewed June 7, 2012

Not open all the time, but well worth the experience when they are open, every other Sunday afternoon and on special occasions. Call Lynn at the Center or one of the volunteers to find out when's the best time to visit this magical place plus get directions.

“Spiritually refreshing; tranquility extraordinaire”
Reviewed May 30, 2012

Step away from the main routes of Kauai to the Centre into a refreshing breath of peace and tranquility. In hail the energy you find. You need not be a spiritualist or seeking enlightenment. to enjoy the transition to a quiet place. Sit and relax. Walk the hillside taking in the uniqueness of each shrine as you go. There is nearly a century old rich history of the shines. The commitment and hard work of the Lawai International Centre's members is there to be discovered. Treat yourself; it will be time spent. We did; we will again.
