We have enjoyed their tacos for many years since they were just a roadside food truck. Now they are in a permanent location with tables and higher prices. It has always been a destination must for us when visiting this side of the Island. We always recommend this to others.
Today all went well until the order taker/server mixed up three different orders. The first table got something they didn't order. The server argued first with the customers, then with the cook. This delayed everyone else's order. Next we got two items which were not what we ordered. She argued with us and then the intended recipient complained his order had not arrived. Meanwhile the kitchen called my name as my real order was ready. We had already started eating the third party's food so he was unhappy. Then the server proceeded to argue with both parties about who was supposed to get what.
Finally we got the right fish tacos but instead of apologizing for their error I got some nasty looks and more backtalk from the server.
A very simple apology to each of three tables about the mixup would have been fine but instead we got arguments and dirty looks from a server who wasn't even born when we first lunched at Tropical Taco.
Nevertheless we will brave it again for old times and for some excellent fish tacos.
