“Neat Place, Good Entertainment”
Reviewed July 24, 2013

Great little place. They had music so a big crowd. Staff did their best to work around the volume of people. My daughter loved the pizza and I had a great steak, so nice range of entree's.

The gentlemen from the wine bar actually came out to offer us something while we waited (I think he felt bad on how slow the tables were turning as well).

A victim of their own popularity but high marks to the hostess and staff for making a lot of effort in spite of the crowd to make it work for everyone (and great food).

“Ok, but...”
Reviewed July 20, 2013 via mobile

Mai tais are very good. Food was just average (we had burgers and ahi sandwiches) - not bad, but not really anything memorable. Like all restaurants on Kauai, it's not cheap. If you're a fan of The Descendants, you'll enjoy seeing this site, as it was prominently featured in the film. Worth a stop, but temper your expectations.

“Takes you back in time to old Kauai”
Reviewed July 20, 2013 via mobile

Good food, good atmosphere, friendly service. If you want to step back in time to old Hawaii, this is the place. The Mai Tai is probably the best on the island. The food is fantastic. They had live music playing, so that was fun. Thumbs up to Tahiti Nui.

“Great Place!”
Reviewed July 16, 2013

Found this restaurant on the internet (found out later it was featured in the movie The Descendants). Loved the location, scenery from porch is beautiful. My husband and I arrived around 4:00,we were starving. We were served by a bartender named Julia. She informed us that there was no food at all available until after 5:00. We were a little disappointed, hadn't eaten since early morning. Thinking about leaving to get something to eat, did not know what to do, she did recommend a place up the road that was serving food. We decided to stay. So glad we did. 5:00 arrived with a new crew of servers. We began being served by a lady named Mia. The energy and atmosphere of the entire place changed. She got us something to eat immediately, It seems there is a happy hour menu and special priced drinks that Julia did not tell us about. Food was great! You have to try the ono roll! Mia hula dancing to live music was awesome. Love this place, went back 2 more times. Highly recommend this restaurant, so much fun. Just hope you get there when Mia is there not Julia.

“Classic north shore bar with surprisingly good food”
Reviewed July 15, 2013

This place is classic, historic, and embodies what north shore Kauai is all about. We went on ukelele night and enjoyed the traditional music. Service completely stopped at times when servers got up on stage to dance hula. We had no problem with that, very aloha. The food was surprisingly good. We had pizza, fish, ahi appetizers. My wife says the ahi was the best she's ever had anywhere. And this place sets the standard for a good mai tai.
