Poor service, mediocre food, good Mai Tais. Only come here for the Mai Tais. Otherwise go somewhere else. We were subjected to the rudest hostess and completely inattentive service from the waitstaff. When we asked the hostess to see if we could order as second round of drinks, she acted like we were inconveniencing her. The food was overpriced for the quality. It was one of the least enjoyable meals we had on the island. A message to the management: Consider hiring new staff.

Set out to have Sunday lunch here and soak up the atmosphere. With just the one person serving bar and the food we thought it may be slow. However the service was fantastic with only a short wait while she finished seeing to the table next to us. The Mai tai was fantastic and the Panko coated Ono and the burger were very good, probably the best fries we have had on the island. The surroundings are rustic and friendly and if you have seen the descendants you can relate. All in all a great afternoon would recommend if touring the north coast.

Place looks shabby, but we had the best fish of our whole trip. Ordered salads, for an extra 4 or 6 bucks you can have ahi on top. We were not expecting massive chunks of fresh off the boat perfectly seared ahi! It was amazing. Our kids' pizza was great too. I will always remember this lunch!

We were disappointed to learn that Scotty's barbecue had closed in Kapaa. It had great BBQ. On a recommendation from locals, we went to Tahiti Nui not for the luau, but for the ribs. They are a tad on the spicy side, but really good. The meat falls off of the bone. The service can be sketchy, but the place is fun and you'll recognize it if you saw "the Descendants." There are not a lot of tables, so go early for dinner or expect a wait.

We ate dinner at Tahiti Nui last night. Our two girls (10 & 11) had a cheese pizza and virgin Mai Tais. We had cheese tortillini and ono rolls. The girls ate the whole medium size pizza - wow. The ono roll was unbelievably good and the tortillini was also very good. The waitress was attentive and good. The hostess was also nice. There was an older woman who delivered our water and cleared the dishes who was grumpy, touched our straws, leaned over the table a bit too far, needs a lesson on how to carry food, and cleared dishes before we were ready .... if it were not for her poor service this would have been a five star review.

The music wasw fabulous - two live musicians who played a variety of Hawaiian and American pop music from decades past. They were really great at involving the crowd and very funny. Plus their voices were very good and I could have listened to them all night ... but there were many people waiting for tables so we headed out.

Definitely recommend.
