“It's the culture”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 23, 2011

OK, so you might not wander here by accident since it's just a bit farther down the street but there is no way to reproduce the true Hawaiian feel you get from hanging out in this place. You might find a dinner elsewhere but be sure to stop in to have a mai tai or two and sing along to island favorites. The band, a duo, is a must see - talented and easy to listen to.

“fun music, average food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 22, 2011

This is a local favorite, probably because of the live music. When we entered, the band was playing hawaiian music and a native customer was doing a hulu. Food was okay, nothing special, but the clientele and bands made for a fun evening.

“Large servings of great food in a unique Kauai setting.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 16, 2011

Had a lovely dinner with some great food and a great ambience. The Squid Ink (just the color, not the actual ingredient) linguini and the macadamia nut Ono. Both were delicious but we preferred the pasta which was extra delicious with lots of seafood. We both took home lots of extra food in a to-go-box.

Didn't have room for dessert. Next time we'll probably order one entree and spit it which we saw several couples doing.

“Tahiti Nui in Hanalei Bay is great!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 14, 2011

We actually discovered this place 2 or 3 years prior and made sure we went back during our March 2011 trip. It was still the same great little place, with wonderful music every night, although they had expanded their menu quite a bit. We loved the pizza both trips, but tried a few different things during our 4 or 5 visits (lunch and dinner) this trip. My new favorite was the jumbo scallops in orange basil reduction (had it on 2 occations!) and my hubyy's new favoite was the 14 oz ribeye with cabernet mushroom sauce. This place is quite differnet from the stuffy and overpriced restaurants that you can easily find in many places on the north shore. I like that the people are very friendly and laid back. I like to relax on vacation and not feel like I have to dress up, etc... We will be back for sure!

“Luau is great family event”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 13, 2011

we had a wonderful night - great food and entertainment in a cute venue. It's not a five-star place but makes up for that in effort and family feel. The dancers and musicians were great, drinks flowed extremely freely and the imu ceremony was really fun. I'd return in a heartbeat
