I enjoy eating out - I realize that Hawaii is expensive, so I'm taking that into consideration.
However, I felt that this place was very overpriced, service was slow and the food was decent (small portions). I recommend some of the local diners instead - this is a tourist restaurant.
Six of us went to dinner (only because we had a $100 gift card). We ordered 1 mixed drink (LOVED the lava flow) and 2 beers. Ordered 2 appetizers - very small portions. The calamari was good but the ceviche was missing something. We travel to mexico a lot and know a good ceviche when we have one - this was far from good. Our dinners were okay - I had the dolphin shrimp: small portion, just like a shrimp scampi. We also had the calamari dinner - good, scallops - good (small portion), teri shrimp - make sure you get the "large" portion that comes with 7 shrimp vs 4, and the Crab and beef combo - the crab was excellent! Our total: $260
Our service was VERY slow but the staff was nice and the restauarant had a nice atmosphere. Your better off going to costco, buying some nice steaks, scallops and fish and grilling out at the beach!!
