“Great Zodiac Ride up the Kauia coast”
Reviewed May 19, 2009

Upon learning that we were going to Kauai people strongly suggested taking the tour up the Napali Coast. After some research online I gave my wife the choice of the relaxing catamaran snorkel tour or the "raft" tour on the inflatible. To my surprise she picked the inflatible- she thought it would be more interesting. Well the tour didn't disappoint- our hosts TJ and Jason were great- personable and informative. I know they do this day in and day out yet they have found a way to keep it fresh for each new group of land lubbers. The ride itself is entertaining in that you better hold on to the ropes or you'll be swimming with the fishes. A lot of dolphins- we stopped a few times to watch the Spinner dolphins (they jump and spin in a playful manner). We were blessed with a beautiful day to boat up the coast past the Navy missle base and up to the majestic coast line of cliffs, beaches and caves. After about 3 hours of taking in the sights of numerous movies we stopped at a beach where we unloaded and set up for a tour of an old Hawaiian village, lunch and snorkeling. Waiting for us on the beach was a monk seal sunning after what looked like a good meal. These animals are protected and they know it. He later joined us for a swim while we were snorkling (KST provides the equipment). The lunch was good for sandwiches, chips and cookies- more than enough water and soft drinks.

“awesome experience”
Reviewed April 13, 2009

The highlight of our trip to kauai. The staff was awesome and made the trip. always willing to help and offer food or drink. The conditions were a little harsh, but the lucky lady took it well. Everything was explained well, from the safey lecture to the sights along the way. A must to do for anyone going there. Enjoy the mai tai's , they were the best we had the whole week

“Breathtaking Na Pali Coast”
Reviewed January 11, 2009

I was told by everyone that the only way to see the Na Pali coast was from the water, and I was also told by the owners of Kauai Garden Cottages where we stayed to go with this company b/c their nephew works for Kauai Sea Tours. He was actually on our boat, and what a nice group of folks it was to work with. And how wonderful was the coast from the water on this boat. From start to finish, the trip was worth it. That morning, there was so much rain it didn't seem possible that the tour would run in the afternoon, but around noon the sun came out and it stayed nice all through the ride. They were well organized, there was plenty of room for everyone on the boat, and the crew and other staff were friendly and helpful. We saw the coast itself, along with great whale activity and two kinds of dolphins that surrounded the boat - spinner and bottle-nosed, which was an extra bonus. The staff/crew kept the drinks and food coming, and they continually asked after everyone if anyone needed or wanted anything. The captain was helpful and friendly and shared lots of good info about the coast and its history as well as info about the dolphins and whales. I even got to drive the boat! We had rainbows, and a beautiful sunset on the ride home. What a great afternoon excursion, definitely worth the time and money.

“Very well done. Na Pali coast is a must see.”
Reviewed December 31, 2008

The entire operation was very well done. When we were there, the weather was just not good. Lots of rain for days on end..very unusual in Kauai. The staff did a very nice job of keeping the situation on our cruise upbeat and did their best to make sure everyone had a good time. We had plenty of things to drink for all, the food was pretty good and the guys with the company really wanted to help you have a good time. Our "captain" did a nice job of showing and explaining things on the trip as well as doing his best to entertain us even when the weather was making the trip difficult. I always felt safe.
I've travelled a lot on vacation. The Na Pali coast is a MUST see. Don't miss the opportunity. We saw lots of dolphins. That was a lot of fun. Saw a few whale spouts but never saw whales.
I also recommend getting the "ear patch" before you go. There were a couple of folks that weren't prepared in that regard and I have had some issues in the past. Called my doctor before the trip, they called out the prescription and my entire group was able to really enjoy themselves. I do suggest getting the ear patch actually put on at least a few hours before the trip to make sure it's fully working.

“Snorkelers Beware!!”
Reviewed December 30, 2008

Before booking this "Snorkeling Tour" with Kauai Sea Tours (KST) on the Lucky Lady be sure to verify that you will actually be able to go snorkeling. Especially in the winter months. We booked and the staff never informed us that we could not snorkel until after the boat left the dock. Our only objective was to go snorkeling. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. The Captain of the boat said "they haven't been able to snorkel since they've been experiencing rainy conditions on the island for two, yes two weeks and all the snorkeling spots were all murky". KST had four opportunities to tell us we would not be able to snorkel, but failed to do so - very deceptive. Snorkelers Beware!!
