Owner description: Get to the Fun Faster! The memories will last a lifetime... Our four boats, Leila, Holo Holo, and Adventurer II & III, get you to the action quicker than anybody else, so you have more time to snorkel, sightsee, relax and enjoy the pristine waters and spectacular cliffs of the Napali Coast & Niihau. We are the only Kauai boat tours company that offers daily trips to the "forbidden island" of Niihau.

Napali Coast & Niihau Super Tour was what we took. We've been on cruises to the Napali Coast before. As in the past the view was wonderful. We've snorkeled off Napali on the past trips... it was mediocre at best. This trip after taking us up the Napali coast, we crossed over towards Nihau.

Of course one can't visit Nihau, but we got to see it from a pretty reasonable distance while we went to snorkel at a crater which I believe is called Lehua. Superficially it looks like the Molokini Crater off Maui, but this one has lots of fish (unlike the Maui site that seems to have mroe snorkelers than wildlife). At Lehua the water is a bit deep, so the fish are a good distance down, but colorful and varied.

On the way we encountered spinner dolphins, a few seals, and even one whale.

The ride was smooth and comfortable but the captain said this was an unusually calm day. Nobody seemed in the lest bit seasick.

Calling the food 'gourmet' as in the brochure was a stretch, but it was perfectly ok and there was plenty of it. They had wine and beer available at no extra charge after you got out of the water.

The boat was comfortable and the bathrooms were excellent compared with the usual on these trips. Their snorkel gear included masks with corrective lenses (we brought our own, so I cant comment on quality). It was easy to get on and off the boat both at port and snorkeling. Parking was ok, the staff was entertaining.

All in all, a great trip!

Other than by air (which we did), the best way to see the beautiful Na Pali coast of Kauai is by catamaran. Holo Holo Charters did an excellent job of taking us to the coast and back, all while providing an excellent, smooth ride, manned by Captain Paul and his crew. All were very hospitable and friendly. The crew was very attentive, even volunteering to take photographs for us, and always ready for that next beverage. The food was good, and more than I expected, but the real reason to take this cruise is for the views! The Captain even slowed down the boat so we can see some spinner dolphins swimming around us. The sunset wasn't great due to cloud cover right as the sun was going down, but that one is on mother nature, not Holo Holo.

Overall, a must do when in Kauai, especially if you don't want to fork over the $$$ to do a helicopter or plane tour.

Dear Guest,
Thanks for joining us on our Sunset Sightsee Dinner Tour. We love to know the crew took good care of you; we strive to always show guests the true aloha spirit. Hope you got some incredible photos and memories to take home with you, despite the sunset. We apologize for Mother Nature, not providing the spectacular sunset we requested, but guess you can’t win them all. You will just have to come back again! Mahalo and aloha

The only way to really enjoy the majestic views of the Na Pali coastline is either by helicopter or boat. This cruise is great. This was our third trip to the island and our third cruise with Holo Holo. The boat was very clean and the staff is very attentive. Being on the water at the Na Pali coast during sunset should be a "bucket list" check mark for everyone! If you plan to visit Kauai don't even think about skipping this tour. You will not be disappointed!

Dear Guest,
Agreed! We are slightly biased of course, but we totally agree that the Napali Coast in the late afternoon sunlight is really a special sight not to be missed. The Napali Coast is one of the most inaccessible coastlines in the world, the only way to see it is by air, sea, or hiking, we recommend you do them all! But, seeing it from sea level gives you an incredible view point, you are able to look up at towering sea cliffs, caves, and waterfalls. Thanks for being a “repeat offender” we hope you are able to visit us again soon! Mahalo and aloha

Because I'm a cheapass I did a lot of research before booking Holo Holo. Compared to the competition $129pp was the cheapest for a 5 Hour Snorkel tour, which includes breakfast, deli lunch, 1 snorkel swim, and beer/wine on the way back. Due to crazy waves up north, we couldn't hit up the Napali coast, but they managed a fun impromptu sail along the south and west coast. The snorkeling spot was decent, but snorkeling at Poipu Beach was better, and not to mention free. The staff was friendly and knowledgable.

There was nothing wrong with this trip, but 2 years ago in Maui I booked a 6.5 hour boat trip with Pacific Whale Foundation (http://pacificwhale.org). Their trip included breakfast, hot bbq lunch, TWO snorkel swims at Molokini and Lanai, and booze on the way back...for only $86pp, so I don't feel like I got my money's worth.

Maybe its unfair to judge Maui against Kauai...are the two islands economies that much different? Regardless, Holo Holo is probably the best choice for boating on Kauai.

Dear Guest,
Thanks for sharing your unique thoughts and perspective. Yes, boat trips on all the islands vary significantly in price and amenities. We appreciate your honesty and research to find the best deal; we strive to offer a quality tour at an affordable price. Unfortunately weather did not allow us to tour the Napali Coast that day, hope you can join us again so you can experience the incredible beauty of that area. Mahalo and aloha
