“Average all the way around...”
Reviewed April 12, 2009

We ate here for breakfast and/or lunch 5 times over a 7-day period and never had anything that was better than average. The breakfast buffet is decent but not worth the price they charge, and the lunch menu is very small and lacking many choices. Kids meals are outrageously priced and are much too large for most children under 9 or 10.

“Hawaii Calls . . . we listened.”
Reviewed March 23, 2009

Enjoyed daily breakfast buffets here during our stay. Good variety of options including the standard eggs benedict, potatoes, sausages, toast, bagels, and english muffins. Other options include miso soup, beef noodle soup, rice, and fish (great for feeding the resident cat that keeps the birds away - cover your creamer as the birds do like to use it as their drinking spot!) Omelettes made to order and freshly prepared waffles were excellent. Personal favorites were the macademia nut encrusted sticky buns and bread pudding with vanilla sauce. It's an excellent deal when included as part of the room rate, otherwise it's 19.95 as part of their spring special - quite costly if it's for a family on a daily basis. The servers were friendly and attentive ensuring our plates were cleared quickly, replenishing our coffee and never rushing us. If you're off for the morning, ask for a take away cup for your coffee for the road - didn't realize they did this until it was offered to us early one morning. Although not directly on the beach, the view here of the pool and A-bay beyond is lovely. We had pupus and lunch here a couple of times - very tasty, but at resort prices, so if you're ordering, lounge and enjoy as they offer pool side service as well. Nice Blue Hawaiian, but 14 USD with tip. Although we didn't dine here for dinner, the menu looked quite good with numerous daily specials that seemed quite reasonably priced as far as dinner resort prices go - some at 19.95 for an entree with other specials at 2 for 1. Had we not been guests, I'm not sure I would have gone out of our way to eat here, but overall, as a guest it was a pleasant dining option.

“Delicious food, attentive service, gorgeous view of pool, beach and sunset”
Reviewed April 13, 2008

As guests of the Marriott where the restaurant is located, we chose to stay in one night and eat at Hawaii Calls. It was a great decision on our part.
The fresh fish of the day (salmon) was pan seared to perfection and delicious with the potatoes served. The spinach salad and chowder were as good as any I had ever eaten.
Our server was a wonderful lady who keep our glasses filled and insured that we wanted for nothing.
Coupled with the amazing view of the sunset, overlooking A-Bay and hotel's infinity pool, this was one of our best meals in Hawaii.
