This restaurant is ok - everything in Hawaii is expensive, so I can't complain about price. It's comparable to other restaurants. Food is ok, service is fine. View is lovely, especially at sunset. Breakfast was always hearty and yummy - I did a la carte breakfast everyday and it was great. No complaints, but no accolades either. Only restaurant at the Marriott so it's hard to avoid if you stay there!

Food is unremarkable but expensive. Even happy hour appetizers not worth the price. $7 for four tiny cocktail "jumbo" shrimp. Overly greasy calamari with what looked like frozen mozzarella sticks. Best thing was the pupu platter with the summer rolls and sushi pockets. Best service was at the bar. Drinks are decent but expensive, beer is the most affordable.

Mixed reviews on this one. The day we arrived our room was not ready so we headed to Hawaii Calls for a few drinks while we waited. We were promptly served and we never had an empty glass until we were ready to check-in.
No for the not so good...Sunday is there lobster special night which we decided to take advantage of...not the best choice! The restaurant was packed that night and from what we could tell most of the guests were eating the lobster. We made a reservation and were seated right way, our drink order was made, 5 minutes later our dinner choice was made (the lobster). Our dinner came out about 5 minutes later, based on the number of lobster dinners we saw around us I am sure that they have several prepared ahead of time. Once our dinner came out, before we even received our drink orders, our waiter on checked on us one other time, never once did we receive bread with our meal as all of the other tables did around us, and the only other service we received was having our water glasses re-filled. It took some time for them to clear our table and bring our check.
I would say hold off on the Hawaii Calls Restaurant dinner specials, but I am sure that upon our return we may give them another shot.

The reviews have not always been nice but I can say after two meals it is a good and convenient place to eat. On arrival we had a simple meal at the bar and our waitress was terrific. We liked it so much we asked for the recipe. Jenny went back to the kitchen an drought out the magic ingredient so we could recreate it at home. Last night we had the Crab and Prime Fest and it was good. Was it as good as the $95 crab and lobster at another nearby hotel? No but it was also half the price. Don't listen to the naysayers about this place -- it's good,

In a lovely setting, this place offers many specials and discount nights. We have eaten here five times in recent weeks and each meal has been excellent and reasonably priced. Service is consistently good and the outside dining area is most pleasant. They offer the best deals we have found in this area.
