Played 9 holes here with my son to get our golf "fix" while on the Big Island. The course is nice, but the high winds in the afternoon made it VERY difficult to play. Still, for the experience and the good rate we received, it was worth it.

Fourth course we played this week in the island. It was the only one built for walking, which is a big plus, but it was also the least interesting. The holes are straight forward without much imagination. Also, the bunkers have zero sand. You are better off making an agreement with your playing partners to agree to a free drop where the ball enter the sand trap as a shot from a green side bunker with a very high trajectory is not possible from a stone bottom. We were also talked out of walking the course by the guy in the clubhouse who told us twice "you still need to pay for a cart, even if you walk" and insisted we wouldn't be able to keep pace.

So, play this course if you want to walk a local course - beach course is much better, but long distances from green to tee make it unwalkable. Otherwise, play the beach course if you really want to one if their two courses.

Played here for the first time last month and loved it. Excellent club rental...brand new Callaways!...and a very well-groomed course. The course layout is different than the Beach Course, but the landscaping is just as beautiful. Heck, we even saw goats on the "Grazing Goat"...awesome! Before or after your round, I would also recommend stopping by the Kings Grille for a bite to eat or a cold drink.

This is a long course but has lots of wide open fairways and virtually no water. Of course, they put some nice bunkers out there to temp to from the blues. It is, after all, a Donald Ross Jr. course. You might see some wild goats out by the fifth hole. The light in the morning makes finding your ball a real challenge if you hit off line (or even if you're in the middle of the fairway), so bring some extras. Par 4's on this course are very long.

My husband and two sons played a round here. They liked the course but found it crazy expensive. The beach course, across the street/resort was equally expenisve but better for its views and diversity of holes.
