We played at this course on 11/25/13. The routing has changed the last time I play because they use the Kings Course club house for both courses now. This is a fun course with a lot of water. The holes through the lava are interesting and beautiful. If you’re hitting it straight it’s not that difficult of a course. The conditions have gone downhill since the last time I played which is sad. This can be a great course if the maintenance was improved. The powers at be need to do a total refurbishing to both the Beach and Kings Course. The up side is the fees are reasonable for Hawaii. I paid $109.00 for an 11:00 tee time. If and when they make changes and improve the course, the fees will go up. The long and short of it is, if you what to play golf in Hawaii and not pay and arm and a leg, then this is the course for you. If you want great conditions with perfect greens and have good service from the staff then go to Mauna Lani or Mauna Kea resorts. You’ll pay anywhere from $165 to $250 depending on when you play. The best course for the money with great service and conditions is the Hapuna course at the Hapuna Prince Resort. I paid $109.00. If these green fees are a bit much for you then leave you clubs at home and enjoy the beaches and other great things that Hawaii has to offer.
