Beach course has the one great hole by the ocean - in the current configuration its now number 7 (used to be number 12). Aside from that one great hole, there are a number of other good ones (current numbers 4, 9, 17 and 18) but thats about it. Of the 6 courses in the immediate vicinity (this one, Waikoloa Kings, 2 courses at Mauna Lani, Hapuna and Mauna Kea) Beach course is probably the least challenging and compelling outside of the one great ocean hole.

Been coming here for about 10 years. Always a nice experience on the Beach and the Kings course. I like the Beach a bit better but both are fine golf experiences.

It is not in the best shape but it also is not as expensive as the courses at Mauna Lani and Mauna Kea

The Beach Course at Waikoloa is short, flat and takes forever to play. We played there twice during our recent vacation and our first round took 5 hours and twenty minutes to complete and we actually quit after 9 holes during our second round after taking nearly 3 hours to complete the front nine. How this can happen on such a relatively easy course is beyond my comprehension. There are no course marshalls out there to speed up play (as is the case with every Big Island golf course I've ever played). We've decided never to play there again.

Can't comment on morning golf, but playing after 2 the place is vacant. Finished a round as a twosome in 2.5 hours one day and a foursome played in under 4 hours the next day. my only complaints - the bunkers have virtually no sand. I think for the price they charge they could buy some. More yardage markers would be helpful too.
