When you pay $97 for adults and $57 for kids you think you would get not only quality food but also food placed on ice or kept warm with chaffing dishes and more importantly covered as much as possible to avoid flies and bugs landing on food. Prior to food being served my husband got up to get my sunglasses from our room(we stayed at hotel). When he came back he said that the desert table was out but had no coverings on the food and there where a bunch of flies around the desserts. Not happy. The actual show was good but there sound system was weak, not loud enough. What I was most disappointed with was the fact that anyone at the resort could watch the show. When u pay that much money you would think it was exclusive. Not the case. Looking back on it now. I know I wanted to have the luau experience but this really wasn't worth the money!! Especially knowing I could have still watched the show without paying for it.

We have been to 3 luau's thus trip and to other luau's before. This one is by far our favorite. Great, great, great food which is not too salty. The pig they cook and reveal is the actual pig served (which it seldom is). We were pleasantly surprised by the open bar (completely complimentary) and the show was authentic, adequately timed (2 hours) and without the "slapstick" comedy we saw elsewhere. Very professional and entertaining. If you can only go to one luau, let this one be the one.

Great setting, wonderful food, talented dancers and musicians! Better than some we've attended on other islands.

went to the luau the first full day on the island. It was great food, and fun entertainment (plus a beautiful sunset to boot!). The pig unveiling was cool. The bartenders were funny and nice. Unfortunately it was windy as HELL! Nothing the Marriott could do about that but it did detract from our experience a little. They take a fun pic of your family as you enter the area, which we bought because we are tourists after all! It was a good pic though, and could make Christmas Cards much easier for us this year! :)

The luau itself was an amazing performance and I personally loved that they offered a little prayer before we ate. The host was great and all of the dancers were fun to watch!

it was a lot more $$$ than i expected but for the experience, i had always heard you HAVE to go to at least ONE luau when you go to Hawaii!

and besides, EVERYTHING is more $$$ on Hawaii! ($6 for a loaf of bread? $7 for a gallon of milk?? ouch!)

We had a very nice time and met some great people. The food was very good and we enjoyed the show. The only reason I did not rate excellent is that it did not feel as authentic as I think they could make it. But it was very enjoyable.
