“Perfect Hawaiian atmosphere”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 26, 2013 via mobile

This beach club is quintessential Hawaii. An open air bar with big eaves offering seating under cover & right down on the beach. Dinner under the stars, sea in front, sand between toes, kids dancing hula to the father/son muso's (solid covers taking requests), it really has beach vibe. The waiters say things like "cool, dude" & "gnarly" authentically. Piña Colda got a thumbs up from my wife. The food was tasty, we shared 2 Starters, 2 Entrees (the 'simple fish' was blackened Mahi Mahi & delicious) with pineapple rice & salad. Fed 4 handily & left room for cookie ice-cream sandwiches. Yip, Kona ice-cream wedged between two cookies. It was Christmas after all. Short beach walk back to Marriott - unique & wonderful in 70+ degrees.

“Paying for the location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 26, 2013

There was a group of 9 of us dinner. The service was excellent. My meal of Mahi Mahi was fabulous and we had some great starters - Ahi Nacho's, poke, and edamame. The menu is pricey but you are paying for the wonderful location right on the beach with incredible sunset views. The only downside - we were a combination of locals and visitors, and despite my friend making the reservation weeks ago - this was our "treat night", we were given the worst table in the house at the very back by the kitchen door, despite the restaurant not being full.

“Pricey -- less so for lunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 25, 2013

Dinners here can be expensive -- you are paying for the location and the view. Also, the place can be quite crowded and noisy during the evenings. Since we visit the island nearly every year, we were aware of that. So we went for lunch, when it was quieter and somewhat less expensive.

Decent food -- but not outstanding.

“Pretty disappointing”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 21, 2013 via mobile

Went there after reading such good reviews so left feeling disappointed. We didn't see the view, which by all accounts is lovely, as we arrived after sunset. We were shown to a nice table. Menu looked good. We ordered drinks - a Lychee-Hoo which was very watery and served in a weird plastic half coconut shell. Our server was nice and took our order. Our starters were the rib teaser and sizzling shrimp. Both were pretty tasty. Took about 30 mins to arrive though. We were still eating the starters when our main courses arrived. They were very bland. I had the simple fish - no flavor at all - only the little salsa saved it. My daughter and husband had the macadamia crusted mahi-mahi. Pretty bland also. So 2 starters,1 cocktail, 1 beer, 3 fish mains and the bill was $161 + tip.
The live music and dancer were lovely and perhaps we just ordered the wrong things. So, I give it 2 stars.
