We tried the restaurant as it had been recommeded by people. We visited the island in late Feb 2013. We arrived at the Lava Lava restaurant and were given table 6. It was very windy and that table was like sitting in the middle of the pacific. Our knapkins kept getting blown away. My wife and I had to sit close together to form a barrier to the wind. Several other less windswept tables became available within 10 minutes of arrival but no-one offered us those as options. I asked for a water refill and didnt get one. The food was OK but not as good as other local alternatives and the whole place seemed over hyped and under delivered.

Nice little spot located on the beach. Supper entree was tasty...drink cocktails ordered were okay. Loved the live entertainment!

Great beach side dining and great server with wonderful views of the sea, sand and surf. Huge Mai tai in a BIG bamboo cup that lasted the entire meal! My hamburger was fresh and tasty but the fries were cold and the fish and chips not freshly prepared which is a disappointment in Hawaii. Go for the view and pupus!

The Huggo family has once again expanded and it's a winner. We had monk fish grilled to perfection. The clam chowder was as good as the East coast and the view was superb. The place is open and if it's windy watch out. A new entry to a crowded field that has difficulty for good food but this is the answer. Good fun and great food!

Despite being busy, this was the place for us to dine while in Waikoloa. The location, the sand, the sunsets, the whales, the food. Everything we had here was way above average. And the location provided great sunsets. Would love to stay in the Beach Club cabanas.
