“Don't waste your time!!!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 11, 2012

I was excited to try this based on the Tripadvisor reviews but boy was I disappointed!!! Everything about it was awful. The bathroom was dirty and did not have TP!! We ordered everything and found a table- they forgot about our drinks. Eventually the drinks came- the coffee was not good- cold. Then the food came out on plastic plates and utensils. The food was okay- but then the restaurant dog was wandering around the restaurant- not appealing at all. DO NOT waste your time driving there!!

“Nice Cost Effective Option”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 10, 2012

If you are tired of paying crazy amounts for meals at the hotels, try this place in Waikoloa. It is very dive-ish, but the food is certainly ok and is well worth the cost. We only went for breakfast, and had no regrets paying $20 for the two of us. It is only about a five minute drive off of the main highway.

Recommendation for Local Food... Yes!!

Loco Moco at it's best! French Toast.. Yum. Coffee Yum!

Very Casual location and atmosphere, hard to find but well worth it.

“Great food with a side of Aloha”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 27, 2012

Most of our trips are eating vacations - we look for those hidden gems wherever we go - and we always eat at Dave's (owned by Malcolm) when we are on the Big Island. It's an unbeatable combination of taste, value, and friendliness. The staff will treat you with a warm and genuine welcome whether you are a tourist or a regular. Even something as simple as eggs and home fries stands out with wonderful flavor - and the breakfast burrito was the best I've ever had. We're going back for lunch before the week is over. If you are staying on the Kohala Coast, drive the six miles up the hill - the bill will be half (or less) of what you are paying on the beach, and the taste and "aloha" will leave you smiling. We're not saying it's great because of the price - the food is as good or better than other places we've eaten at twice the price.
