“Weekend visit”
Reviewed July 23, 2013

Stayed over the weekend in a 2 bedroom suite which had a lot of space. No HSKP service during our stay and room could have been cleaned better prior to arrival. Great pool for the family with slides, activities and adult pool too. Able to use facilities at Hilton Waikoloa Village but less guests at Kings Land pool which was just as good. DVD movie machine did not work for the 2 days.

Please accept our sincere apologies for the missed housekeeping service and the inoperable DVD encountered during your recent stay with us. We realize the impacts this had on your experience and you can be assured that we will address this immediately with our housekeeping and engineering teams to avoid a re-occurrence. Again, our sincere apologies, and it is our sincere hope that we will have the opportunity to serve you again at Hilton Grand Vacation’s King’s Land Resort.

Wonderful setting - peaceful, quiet, picturesque - a perfect place to forget about the rest of the world. Something for everyone - staff is outstanding and always available and pleased to assist. So much to do at the resort and in the Kona area, no excuse to be bored. Kick back, relax and enjoy!

Kings' Land villas are wonderfully appointed with modern appliances (although the filtered water through the refrigerator was not connected), spa-like bathrooms, and comfortable beds. Our patio had its own resident gecko which took charge of all of the insects out there. The view from the room was over the golf course which provided some intrinsic entertainment.
The clubhouse has the perks of many comfortable places to relax. There are three different pools, one for kids, one for families, and one for adults. The first night we stayed at the pool and watched the stars. The pool was supposed to be open until 10pm but the rest of the complex rolled up the sidewalks at 7pm. The bar and deli closed at 7pm, the towel distribution closed at 7pm, and most of the guests left then. We would have purchased drinks had the bar been available.
We were at Kings' Land for 7 nights with SCUBA or snorkeling trips on the majority of days/nights. This was a wonderful place for a family to relax between island adventures.

Room Tip: Buildings 6 and 7 are on either side of the clubhouse which will reduce walking time to get from you...

As adventurous vacationers we don't spend a lot of time at the resort but the one night we decided to hang at the hotel after a rigorous hike to the lush valley and black beach, we find out everything shut down at 6:00pm. Now that night it was busy so they stayed open until 6:30, they said they had to get special permission. Other than that the resort was beautiful!! Our two bedroom was very spacious and tastefully
Decorated.

Very enjoyable family stay! I have a 10 and 12 year old and they loved it! The staff was very friendly; especially Eric. Check in was great! The pool area was especially inviting and kept my kids occupied for four days! My only complaint, or more of a suggestion, is to have a waiter/waitress walking around the pool area for beverages and food.

I wish I could just say read the review from ruc2827 from 6/20/2013 because that sums up everything. This is not a hotel, but this is exactly what we want when we go on a family vacation.

This was our second visit to Kings Land. This trip we stayed in a two-room (one master, one with 2 full beds) accommodation on the second floor in Building 9. We previously stayed in a one-bedroom on the first floor. I prefer the first floor because it allows the kids to run out the back right onto the grass. But, since they were a bit older this trip they actually enjoyed the balcony and the ability to hang out outside by themselves if we chose to run an errand without them.

The accommodations are clean and have well-stocked kitchens down to a blender and rice cooker. Lots of towels in the bathroom and great bath products from the Kohala Spa at the Hilton Waikoloa. It was nice to have two full bathrooms. Master bathroom is open to the bedroom (although I remember the one-bedroom unit having a door to the bedroom and to the hall since it was the only bathroom), although the toilet is within it’s own frosted-glass cubicle. There is a curtain between the bedroom and bathroom, and, of course, the door to the bedroom can be shut for more privacy. The beds were comfortable. Stackable laundry is in the unit. The unit was fully serviced twice during our 10-night stay. Small amounts of laundry soap, dishwasher soap and dish soap are provided. The housekeeping staff was more than happy to hand over more if we needed anything.

The Super Pool is just that. The kids love collecting the daily pool bands and would rather hang out there than do anything else. Multiple waterslides and an activity pool kept them busy. There is also a nice adult-only pool area. There are large changing rooms/showers/bathrooms on either end. We haven’t used the Serenity Pool because we’ve found no need to leave the large pool.

We ate in for breakfast and frequently BBQed at dinner. Hit the Costco or Target in Kona to stock up first. The "dressed-up" ABC store at the Queen's shops and the Whaler's General Store at the Kings' Shops are bit expensive (but, that should be obvious). BBQ’s are gas and are located between the buildings. Take a beer or a glass of wine down to the BBQ and meet some of the others in the building doing the same thing. We’ve met some really nice people when sharing grill space. We had breakfast once at the Bistro (coupon) and a couple of snacks during happy hour at the pool bar. It’s expensive, but I’m on vacation and Billy at the bar is a lot of fun.

There are daily activities for all ages, entertainment during happy hour, and a couple of movie nights. There is a large common room, an activity center, and a fitness center. There is also a business center near the front desk for airline check-ins. Don’t forget the DVD/Playstation game dispensers near the front desk….a lifesaver when I wasn’t quite ready to head to the pool. The Wi-Fi worked great in the room.

Grab the Big Island Revealed book. The book and the corresponding website are a wealth of information.

Definitely a place where to stay with your kids to have a great vacation & visit the main Waikoloa Hotel. Suites are great!!! I definitely recommend it. You won't regret it! If you have kids & want to stay away from the crowdy pool & places you should try it.
