My daughter and I had dinner at this restaurant after shopping one evening, the service was great, the food and wine excellent. Staff friendly and helpful, service quick.

“Just Bad”
Reviewed April 11, 2010

Everything came out drowning in oil and cheese. There is only one healthy low fat option on the menu (plain salmon). The service was slow and snobby. The wait was long. The fact that this restaurant was so crowded speaks volumes about the shortage of decent dining options in the area. You'd be much better off going across the way to the large market and getting take-out.

“Fair to partly cloudy - at best.”
Reviewed March 19, 2010

Someone else summed it up below - too many other good places to eat to bother with this. But I will add - we have 4 kids, 3 teens and a very near teen so it was handy for a late dinner.

We did get right in (although it was 8:30), once seated got beverages quickly and some pretty good bread to share. but then the service slowed down quite a bit.

Once our food did arrive, we had to ask for silverware, and 1 of our our orders was forgotten so we had to wait nearly 10 minutes for that entree.

For the money I'd go elsewhere. The upside is the grocery store (ABC Store) across from the restaurant is great!

“Cheese and crackers in your car would be better!”
Reviewed March 2, 2010

There are too many good restaurants in the Waikaloa area to waste any of your precious time or money at this place. As seasoned travelers, we did just that one evening recently, and wish we'd had better sense. If you like eating mediocre ersatz Italian food in a noisy, dormatory dining hall atmosphere, then you'll have no problems. But if you care a whit about food and service, avoid this place at all costs. Our waitress could have cared less about us, my lasagna surely had been made the day before and re-heated, and my husband's request for Parmesan cheese resulted in a 15-minute wait and finally a carelessly thrown portion in a take-away cup. "Two thumbs Down . . . Way Down"!

“Disappointing Macaroni Grill”
Reviewed February 18, 2010

Not the same as the ones on the mainland. Smaller portions and more expensive plus not the same quality or recipes But it's always crowded.
