To celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary, my wife and I have just returned from our 10th trip to the Hawaiian Islands. The Big Island of Hawaii has turned out to be our favorite, due to the fact that it has less traffic, more beaches and an active volcano. With every trip we try new restaurants and post our opinions on TripAdvisor. This trip was no exception. We were on a day trip to the north part of the island and decided to stop at the Waikoloa Beach Marriot Resort. The Marriot has two shopping centers, one on each side of the hotel. They are called the Queens Market Place and the Kings Market Place. On the Kings side is a restaurant called Sansei. It is primarily a Japanese fusion restaurant. You have the choice of many small plates or a full dinner menu. There is a huge variety of food types to choose from. When we first got to the restaurant we were surprised to see a line at the front door. We were informed that on Sunday and Monday nights from 5-6 pm, almost all the items on the menu are half price. This was a nice surprise for anyone on vacation. Everything was delicious and well prepared. My wife had the duck, while I had the butter fish. We split an order of Poke salad and enjoyed dessert. Everything was delicious and the service was fast and efficient. Highly recommended.
