In February of 2011 I rented a room at the Lokahi Lodge for the night I proposed to my girlfriend. The staff was extremely helpful, enthusiastic and courteous without being at all intrusive. The rooms themselves were cozy without being claustrophobic, and the overall location was perfect, being close to restaurants, a winery, and the Volcano national park.
Overall it came together to create a night neither myself or my fiancee will ever forget!
This has become our favorite place to go to get away for the weekend.

If you are planning a multi-day trip to the Volcano National Park this place is fantastic. Tucked into the woods on a quiet country road, it is 2 miles or less from Volcano Village & the Park. The rooms are comfy & quaint offering everything you need from wireless internet to a hot tub. There is a kitchen you can use which is shared. The porch wraps around giving the various stayers some privacy inn their own "backyard". Wake up to birds chirping & insects buzzing. I stayed in the Loki room. This room is larger than it appears on the website. My friend stayed in the Naupaka room which is basically half of the entire upstairs of the house. It is huge containing a kitchen, dining room, sitting area. It is huge & would easily be good for a family. There is a king bed & a queen bed plus 2 sofas. The only disadvantage to this room is that there is no door directly outside (you have to go downstairs) & you have to lug your bags up the stairs. For the money I thought the Loki room was perfect.

You get a nice toom plus a kitchen, living room and very helpful personnel. We really enjoyed our stay at the facility. The common areas were well taken care of and we would certainly use the facility again if we went to the national park again

The rooms are as described on the website, clean and spacious. We made dinner at the huge and well stocked kitchen, so convenient and easy. It is right outside the volcano park and it is easy to zip in and out to take part in the park's actvities. Highly recommended.

We were staying for one night to see the volcanoes. The location was 5 minutes from the park and hiking. The grounds and common areas were clean and spacious. Our only complaint was the shower head - it started out very hot and and ended in a cold mist by our feet. We would definitely stay again and would highly recommend it as an economical gateway to Volcaoes National Park.

Very close to the National Park. It is big, has a great kitchen and living area. The free internet was a surprise for that part of the island. I loved it!

Location is just outside of Volcanos National Park, on the Big Island of Hawaii. The Lodge is just one of several lodges serviced by the same management company, and as such has no permanent personnel stationed on the property. A vety good breakfast is served on another one of the nearby properties, for a nominal price.

Service is excellent; I left my keys in my room and the night attendant drove from his home to the office to hand me a spare. The location of the Lodge off the main highway means that it is very quiet. It is located at 4000 feet above sea level, and can be cool at night.
