“Great place to stay in Volcano, feels very private”
Reviewed September 24, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

If you want to feel like you're alone in the rain forest, even though you're actually close to everything, this is a great option.

We stayed here for three nights in September, 2015. The location is perfect, just a few minutes away from Volcano National Park. All the local restaurants are about a mile away or less. The only downside to the location is that the dirt road in front of the cabin is quite rough, so slow down and be prepared for some serious bumps.

The directions that were provided via email were clear, and we had no trouble finding the cabin or getting the key and getting in. We never needed to contact the owner during our stay.

The living area, dining area, and kitchen are all open to each other, which makes it feel fairly spacious. There was a computer on a small desk, but we did not use it. We did connect our phones and Surface to the wifi, which worked fine. Don't expect miracles, though. This is Hawaii, and if you're used to high-speed internet, the internet will feel very slow.

There were two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and another with two twin beds. Since it was just the two of us, we slept in the comfy queen bed and put our luggage in the other bedroom. Each bedroom had a space heater, and the living area had a wood-burning heater, but we never found it necessary to use them. We would have preferred a king bed, but the bedroom isn't really big enough for one.

The small backyard is gorgeous, surrounded by lush jungle, and sitting out on the back porch listening to the rain fall was lovely. I only wish there was a hammock or a lounge chair on the back porch - it would have been a great place to nap. There was a hot tub, however, which was nice. While there are other houses fairly close by, you can't see them because of the thick jungle. It feels very private and secluded.

We will definitely consider staying here again the next time we're in Volcano.

We have 2 children and 3 adults. Children liked the house and we had a good time in it. It is a pity that we hadn't spent much time in staying at the house. We were busy in traveling. The house is very close to the vocanol national park. It is very beautiful and interesting around the house. And there is heating that can make us more comfortable. I like it.
