Description: Kilauea Lodge and Restaurant, located in the quiet village of Volcano, sits on 5 acres of gardens and gazebos and native forest. This hotel restaurant features a large fireplace, local art, koa tables, and is open nightly. Chef/owner Albert Jeyte blends flavors from his European background with farm, ranch and seafood products from Hawaii, the surrounding Pacific and elsewhere. Volcano Village is at 3700 feet elevation and evenings are often cool and misty. The historic fireplace welcomes guests with it's cheery fire. Home made soups and breads tease the appetite. Albert specializes in unusual game...venison, antelope, rabbit, duck. The biggest sellers are local fish dishes; ahi, ono, mahimahi and the exotic Tristan lobster. A large wine list complements the eclectic menu.

“Great!”
Reviewed January 8, 2014

We enjoyed lunch one day and then cocktails the following evening here. The views are great and the atmosphere is fairly relaxing. Food was ok not great. Still worth visiting.

“Food was good, though not oustanding, but service was really warm and excellent!”
Reviewed January 7, 2014

I would definitely recommend this restaurant over the one at Volcano House. More choices and much better service, more willingness to adapt ingredients to dietary needs. Also very interesting story to the place and very charming atmosphere.

“Great breakfast and setting”
Reviewed January 6, 2014

We ate breakfast in the restaurant in December--excellent. The place was decorated for Christmas and the view outside the windows was lovely--so the setting was very nice. The waitresses were helpful and very pleasant. It was pricier than your average breakfast place, but it felt worth it to us that day.

“Outstanding Restaurant in an Outstanding Location”
Reviewed January 5, 2014

Another one of our favorites -- we return every trip to the Big Island -- and usually for a special event -- this year, it was for Christmas Eve dinner.

Variety of items on the menu, well prepared, and a staff who aim to please.

We always set reservations (but we are also usually there on big demand days) - we've seen folks turned away (or at least unwilling to wait for a table).

Seating near the fireplace for dinner is our favorite spot.
