Description: Kilauea Lodge and Restaurant, located in the quiet village of Volcano, sits on 5 acres of gardens and gazebos and native forest. This hotel restaurant features a large fireplace, local art, koa tables, and is open nightly. Chef/owner Albert Jeyte blends flavors from his European background with farm, ranch and seafood products from Hawaii, the surrounding Pacific and elsewhere. Volcano Village is at 3700 feet elevation and evenings are often cool and misty. The historic fireplace welcomes guests with it's cheery fire. Home made soups and breads tease the appetite. Albert specializes in unusual game...venison, antelope, rabbit, duck. The biggest sellers are local fish dishes; ahi, ono, mahimahi and the exotic Tristan lobster. A large wine list complements the eclectic menu.

Started early from Kona for the nearly 2 hour drive to get some Kings Benedict for breakfast and it was totally worth the drive & the early rising for this not early riser! Delicious food, lovely location/restaurant ambiance, super friendly helpful staff, just terrific all around, definitely recommend! Recommended by my friend's mom from their visit years ago & we were both so pleased that we made the time to visit on our short Hawaii adventure!

Everything is top notch. Service is first rate, food is fresh, delicious and the right amount and the atmosphere is warm and friendly with the Fireplace of Friendship burning in the background. Don't miss this restaurant when you are visiting the volcano.

One of the employees at the Volcano Winery told us we needed to eat here while in Volcano. This was was very good. Started with the coconut brie which was a nice twist on the cheese and bread appetizer. Next I had the chef's special Altesian soup which was incredible. I had never heard of this type of soup before (pureed vegetable based soup, and very creamy) and I am very glad that I ordered it. For my entrée I got the blackened Mahi Mahi. This was awesome. They prepare their catch of the day 3 different ways. I was able to try the Mahi prepared each way (3 of us ordered it) and all were very good. The only disappointing part of the meal was the quinoa that was served on the side. It was rather bland and I would have much rather had a different side dish. The table agreed with this. For dessert I had the chocolate cake which was very rich and delicious and my wife had the lilikoi cheesecake which was excellent. The lilikoi margaritas could have been the best drink we had on our vacation. Overall a great place in a nice atmosphere. Check this place out if you are looking for a nicer place to eat in Volcano.

Volcano Hawaii does not have many restaurant to choose from but this one is at the top of list and would be among the top in any location you visit. Decor and ambiance is unusual and excellent with nice table spacing so that even if there is a large family group at the next table it would not be intrusive if you were just a couple looking for some privacy. It offers a fine food/beverage menu with interesting selections. The service is top notch, attentive, but not "in your face". Reservations are a good idea as the place is popular. It is not inexpensive but we felt the value for money was good.
We definitely would go back again.
