Description: Kilauea Lodge and Restaurant, located in the quiet village of Volcano, sits on 5 acres of gardens and gazebos and native forest. This hotel restaurant features a large fireplace, local art, koa tables, and is open nightly. Chef/owner Albert Jeyte blends flavors from his European background with farm, ranch and seafood products from Hawaii, the surrounding Pacific and elsewhere. Volcano Village is at 3700 feet elevation and evenings are often cool and misty. The historic fireplace welcomes guests with it's cheery fire. Home made soups and breads tease the appetite. Albert specializes in unusual game...venison, antelope, rabbit, duck. The biggest sellers are local fish dishes; ahi, ono, mahimahi and the exotic Tristan lobster. A large wine list complements the eclectic menu.

“Lovely Lunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 14, 2013

We enjoyed lunch at the Kilauea Lodge & Restaurant. We had the Mini Burger Combo which consisted of a Beef Burger, Antelope Burger and Buffalo Burger. They were prepared as ordered (medium rare) and very good. We also enjoyed wine with our meal. The Lodge offers a lovely, warm atmosphere with a fireplace. Our server was pleasant and we appreciated being able to enjoy a leisurely lunch.

“Best dining in Hawaii.....”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 14, 2013

I love a German restaurant, especially when it's in the middle of nowhere. So when I saw the flag of the German Republic on the porch, I knew this was the place. Wow! The hosenfefer was amazing. In fact, everything that came out of the kitchen was amazing. Service was outstanding. If German is not your thing, try the Ahi or one of the nightly specials. You cannot go wrong. Did I mention dessert? Holy-moly! If you are within 50 miles of this place....go there for dinner. Better make a reservation though, or you'll miss out on the best restaurant in Hawaii.

“Nice to warm up for dinner in Volcano”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 11, 2013

Came here to warm up after a cold rainy day at the park. Enjoyed a meal close to the fireplace getting some much needed heat!

Started off the meal with the Brie Cheese and Crab Cakes; both were good, but not great! Hunter Soup (rabbit based) Special was great and hearty, good for a winters night. Ahi Fish of the Day was delicious, but the papaya ginger glaze was not to my husband's taste. The Paupiettes of Beef were very good, but VERY heavy. I was glad we had missed lunch or it would have been too much! Other member of our party had the Meatloaf...it was amazing, but be aware that it needs 45 minutes to cook--so plan ahead to have some appetizers and enjoy drinks and salad if someone in your party chooses this option!

Overall a good experience, would recommend for a nice meal in Volcano.

“Busy”

We stopped here for dinner because they had great reviews. Unfortunately for us you needed a reservation and it would have been 2 hours until we would have gotten a table.
