“An absolute DREAM!!”
Reviewed March 10, 2013

My boyfriend and I stayed 3 nights out of the 13 that we were on the Big Island and wish we would have spent more time at the Volcano Teapot Cottage. Bill and Antoinette and fabulous hosts. The cottage is nestled in a beautiful 2 acre "rain forest" setting. The flowers and plants just unbelievable. From the moment we walked into the front door we knew that our stay there was going to be amazing. Each day is provided with a outstanding breakfast of fresh fruit, homemade sweet breads, juices, eggs, the finest teas and coffee. After all day sight seeing to come back to the cottage and feel right at home, watch a movie or enjoy the completely private hot tub. I can't say enough and recommend the Volcano Teapot Cottage enough. I will return to the Big Island and that is where I'm making my ONLY reservation.

We spent three days on Big Island to be close to Volcano and experience a weekend in the rainforest for hiking and near the lava flow. We spent 3 nights at Volcano Teapot Cottage and of all the accommodation we stayed in during our 2 week tour of Hawaii, Teapot was the best. The Cottage is completely private (down the road from the owners) and finished to a very high standard. It was very spacious for two persons but there are two rooms suitable for a family or two couple's. Teapots are the theme here and coming from London, we loved the quaint teapot's, pictures and magazine articles around the cottage as well as the wonderful selection of tea's to try. Bill (the owner) came over once we were settled and was extremely helpful recommending places to visit and suggesting restaurants which were all spot on.
We loved the hot tub in the garden, which being in a rainforest expect some rain, we were all cosy and warm in the hot tub listening to the rain and admiring the spectacular forest plants, flowers and birds all around - particularly nice with a glass of wine at sunset.
Then there is the food - I have never been to a cottage so well stocked and the assortment of cake's (all were good but you have to try the banana cake - wow) and food in the fridge was a real treat after hiking and zip lining during the day.
I can't recommend this delightful cottage highly enough for couple's, family or friends for a long weekend. We joked with Bill to name his asking price to sell the cottage to us - you will understand why when you stay here...

My wife and I finished our 2 week trip on the Big Island with a stay at the Volcano Teapot in the Village of Volcano. We were lucky that we had a friend that had stayed here before and had given us this tip of where to stay.

The cottage is beyond cute and in a wonderful setting. We have traveled a lot and I think the Teapot was one of the most unique and fun places that we have ever stayed. There are so many personal touches and special things about the Teapot. The kitchen was loaded with all sorts of teas, coffees, homemade breads, juices, fruits and other breakfast items. You could tell that the owners, Bill and Toni, take great pride in their cottage and want their guests to have a nice experience.

Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer as the cottage is loaded with terrific books that we would have loved to have read. More books on tea than we ever thought existed.

My wife and I stayed at the Cottage for 2 nights. It is everything you could want out of a home base for visiting Volcano. The cottage itself is private, secluded and cozy. The cottage is welcoming and very comfortable. The grounds are spacious and you feel like you have the entire world to yourself. At night the stars from the front porch are amazing, and when we walked out the path to the street we could see the red glow of the active volcano crater in the sky. That's how close you are to the National Park, such a wonderful combination. It is a perfect location to go up to Jaggar Museum after all the regular tourists are on the road back to Hilo or Kona and spend some alone time with the volcano, watching and listening to the glowing, active crater in front of you.

Every amenity you can conceive of is available for you in the cottage. The sheer number of items that are present to make you as comfortable as possible rivals the finest hotels I have stayed in, but with a personalized touch. From the living areas to the kitchen to the bath to the bedroom, all parts are clearly given great thought and attention to ensure that your stay is great.

Bill will give you excellent tips and up-to-date information on the Volcano and will help you find whatever it is you might want to do/see around while you are there. It is a truly unique experience that we will treasure. I hope we can go back someday.

We enjoyed our three night stay at the cottage. The location is quiet and convenient, the kitchen is fully stocked, and the bathroom is modern and delightful. The hot tub is very private, as is the entire property. Very highly recommended.

This is a lovely, special place. charming, comfortable, such a fun spot for visiting volcanoes and hilo. Bill and his wife are very kind and attentive but do not crowd you, they keep the place spotless and lovely and stock it with great food and local fruits and baked treats. We love the Teapot!

My husband and I stayed at the Volcano Teapot Cottage for 4 nights in November of 2012 based on excellent reviews we read on Trip Advisor.com. I couldn't fathom that the place was as great as people raved, but it way beyond anything we could have imagined. This secluded, wonderful cottage feels like it's in the middle of the jungle - surrounded by beautifully maintained garden and paths through more natural areas on the property, you truly feel you are in a special place. The owners not only gave us great tips for sightseeing in Volcano and in other parts of the Big Island, but the hospitality was amazing. Each day we came home to fresh pastries and the owner even remembered we were vegetarian and provided us with veggie sausages for our breakfast along with fresh fruit, juice, ETC.
The cottage is historic, built in the early 1900's and is beautifully maintained with all modern amenities (washer, dryer, updated bathroom, private/secluded hot tub). It was charming and an amazing way to end a rugged day of hiking to feel so pampered.
We hope to get back soon to celebrate another big anniversary.
