We were happy to find this house as accommodations in Volcano can be difficult to find at short notice. Location is excellent for access to the park. Comfortable rooms and everything we needed for amenities. It would have been nice to have a BBQ.
Quiet, well landscaped surroundings.
This house is a good size for 2 couples. It is comfortable and has plenty of room for relaxing and cooking - which you will probably want to do as this is remote from restaurants. We enjoyed sitting on the wrap-around deck looking at well done plants and flowers. This was a good way to spend a couple of days adjusting to the time change as we came from the US east coast.
It was a bit chilly during our stay, so we built a nice fire with firewood included at the house, which was not expected but very welcome. Unfortunately the VNP was closed this particular weekend due to the Government shutdown, so we used the house as home base while we found lava on the other side of the park.
Enjoyed our stay at this lovely home. Wish we had planned to stay longer. Landscape was so beautiful. Home has everything you would need. Loved it!!
Hale Aloha was perfect for our family's visit to Volcano. The hosts have truly thought of everything.
The home was very clean, neat and comfortable and very spacious.
Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to visit the Volcano National Park
Clean, spacious and well equipped home minutes from the park entrance. Quiet neighborhood. A great alternative to a hotel, especially if you need more than one bed.
Hale Aloha is clean and well maintained home with beautiful tropical garden. It locates 5 minutes away from Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, so it is easy for us to travel back and forth to Jagger Museum to see and take pictures of the glow and activities of volcano. The home has no worker on site, but it has everything you need for a very comfortable stay. We booked our stay at this cottage through booking.com, we received booking number and 4 digits pin code through email. There are two lockers (one on the second floor, and the other one in garage), we need to input access code to get into the home. We didn't know that the pin code in confirmation email wasn't the access code. It took us more than an hour to stay outside in the night of New Year's eve to contact owners, and we are exhausted after long drive from Kona international airport. Finally my husband called booking.com, and received access code. If you book this cottage, make sure you got access code for the lockers. Other than that little trouble, it was a wonderful stay there.
We picked this home due to its proximity to the entrance to Volcano National Park. As this would be the mid way place during our 2 week vacation, we were looking for a 2 bedroom with 2 bathrooms with laundry facilities in order to wash clothes at our convenience. Although we ate out and didn't use the kitchen for substantial cooking (just the coffee pot and microwave), it looked like a good set up for those wanting to cook at home. The home is clean, well landscaped has a garage/carport for a rental car. I would highly recommend this home to others!
