“A very special place...”

Had lunch at Cafe Ono during a group tour to Volcano Nat'l Park...it was great! Ira Ono instantly made us feel welcome and the vegetarian lunch was absolutely delicious!! The art gallery featuring Mr Ono's and other local artist work was really fun to browse. We were encouraged to wander his gardens which I found inspiring. If you go, don't miss seeing the meditation "tree room"--very unique and special.

“Onolicious! Wonderful garden setting, very restful place.”

Fresh ingredients, home made, attention to detail in every way. The only restaurant to live up to "we have the best lasagna" that I have had the pleasure to eat in. I live in Kamuela, I visit friends in Volcano when ever possible, not stopping in at Ira Ono's restaurant, art & yard art gallery, is simply not an option. Always my first stop on the artist open gallery walk the weekend after Thanksgiving. They also offer catering.

“Absolutely delicious meals, warm and inviting atmosphere, artful decor.”

This is a delightful venue for lunch. The menu is light and delicious. The chef even created a dessert on the spot to our delight. The prices are very affordable and food quality is the best. The staff and owner welcomed us personally and invited us to enjoy the art and pet goat in the garden . We also enjoyed browsing in the gallery/gift shop displaying the artwork of local artists and artisans

“Perfect Place for Dinner”
Reviewed August 26, 2010

WE had dinner at Cafe' Ono as part of a Twilight Volcano Tour and it was just wonderful.

Ira, the owner welcomed us when we arrived and gave us an overview of his gallery and garden. Both are great and he encourages visitors to touch the art work, feel it, try it on .. such a refreshing change from some of the places you visit ..

Dinner is Vegetarian, hook cooked style food that was fresh, tasty, filling and served with a smile.

Cafe Ono was part of a very good tour, and is well worth a visit to look at the art and dine, if you are in the Volcano Town area.

“A must when in volcano”

Excellent, original, cozy and friendly. Attention to every detail. Go there to have delicious food or to buy an original piece of art from local artists or the owner, Ono himself.
