“Nice and laid back atmosphere”
Reviewed May 13, 2013

Stopped by while exploring the south part of the island.... Glad we found this little gem good for tummy. Sometimes while traveling u just want simple good food and that's what we found here. While we r not vegetarians we like to eat this way at least twice a week...husband had veggie lasagne with mushroom soup and I had the beet soup with artichoke humus sandwich...very satisfying meal ...thanks

“A lovely, lingering lunch”
Reviewed May 4, 2013

We enjoyed a pleasant lunch here while watching Ernest the goat. The menu is limited. We are both vegan and had no problem finding dishes to accommodate our needs. My husband had shiitake seaweed soup and I had the veggie chili over brown rice with garlic bread. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. Mr. Ono is a gracious host who welcomes guests to Volcano Garden Arts, where the café is located. Be sure to wander through the gallery where you’ll find a variety of interesting items to suit all price ranges.

“Great Vegan Meal”
Reviewed April 24, 2013

We enjoyed the vegan meal and setting in the garden surrounded by art. This was the perfect stop for a leisurely, lunch. The owner was in the restaurant and was very friendly. We liked the many vegan specialties on the menu and the vegan desserts were good too.

“Just okay!”
Reviewed April 22, 2013

Okay, it is vegan. With that being said salad is good but the mushroom soup was fair. If you are coming here for something it should be for the arts and crafts.

“Good vegetarian and vegan food in a lovely setting”
Reviewed April 18, 2013

We had delicious, simple lunch at Cafe Ono the other day on our way to visit the park. The restaurant is in a lovely, garden setting and there is a really nice gallery. We had the soup special, a delicious miso-mushroom soup with a fresh, local salad and good, chewy bread, We sat under an umbrella in the garden. The server was charming and friendly and we were so happy to find a place that serves vegan food as it's harder than one thinks on this island despite the many organic growers. The restaurant and gallery are located at the end of the Volcano village road, a short drive from the park headquarters.
