The Guest Cottages at Volcano Acres Tree House

the volcano tree house is a beautiful forest retreat near volcano national park. We were fortunate to have breakfast at the bamboo orchard cottage. Note that if both bamboo orchard cottage and the volcano tree house are nearly fully occupied you may not have breakfast at the cottage. David and Paula were such wonderful hosts for breakfast I would probably choose the cottage next time. However both would be wonderful choices.

A very neat place to stay. Our family of 5 stayed in the 3rd floor suite, and the 2nd floor suite. Both rooms were clean and very comfortable. The beds were great. The service and helpfulness of the property managers were second to none. We stayed three nights and were glad we did as there is so much to see in the area.

We stayed here for two nights and had a wonderful time. The property was beautiful and the hosts were gracious and accommodating. The property is located back off the main road so it is a very quiet and relaxing location to spend a few nights. This location makes Volcano National Park and the Volcano Winery easily accessible and also make the rest of the southern Big Island a short trip.

We stayed in the treetop suite for 4 nights, and it was really amazing - windows on all 4 sides to the rain forest, our own kitchen, shower, etc. The hosts think of everything - there were even flashlights and umbrellas to borrow, which came in handy when we went to see the nighttime lava viewing. The location is great not only for the Volcano national park, but for Hilo, Puna, and the black sand beaches to the south. The host David was friendly, completely responsive to our needs, and also makes a wonderful Hawaiian breakfast in the mornings, not to be missed! That's at the main house, just a short walk from the treehouse - be sure to soak in the hot tub at least once during your stay...it really helped to relax from all the hiking we were doing.

Be sure to try the Rambutans at breakfast!

We (husband, wife, and 10-mo old son) stayed in the Pacific Island Studio at the Volcano Tree House for three nights. We chose this studio with full kitchen because we wanted to be able to make fresh food for our baby.

David, the host, made everything so that we would feel right at home from the moment we entered the studio: our table was set with beautiful dishware to welcome us, the view from the windows all around was gorgeous, and we were happily surprised to find a little crib ready for our son, even though we didn't specifically request this. It was wonderful to be able to use the full kitchen, and our host was most accommodating when we requested an extra pan or two to cook food. As other reviewers have pointed out, the breakfast provided was delicious and generous portions were served. We won't be forgetting those muffins any time soon! David even stocked our fridge with breakfast every night, so we wouldn't have to leave our room with our baby in the morning to have breakfast at the main house.

The studio is spacious, has a nice flat screen TV, and wireless internet is available. The bathroom was very nicely decorated, and the towels provided very thick and soft -- I wanted to mention this, because in most hotels, the towels often feel like a dishcloth at best.

As far as the location is concerned, the B&B is only about 2 miles from the entrance of the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. In our case, this was very helpful, since traveling with a baby required the necessary breaks and nap times.

We truly had a great time here, and are telling all our friends about this one!

The entire experience my film crew and I had at the cottage was awesome. Next time we head back to the Big Island to film we will stay there again.

My wife and I stayed at the Tree Top Suite while in Volcano. It was a wonderful getaway after the city hustle of Honolulu, Kona and Hilo. It's easy to see why Hawaiians vacation at Volcano! The Suite was everything we wanted, quiet, relaxing, and close to Volcano's sights. David was great, hosting breakfast and making sure we had everything we needed. Highly Recommended!
