We stopped by there today. Its a nice place for a quick bite to eat. Some items are a little over priced but we walked away full. The wife had the Extreme Tamale and I had the Roast Beef sandwich both we're good. Our only negavity was the price of a soda and green tea. It was $2.25 for a can of soda and the green tea was a small cup for $2.50. But its still worth the stop.

So good we have returned 6 years later and " forced them down" two days in a row each time. Fresh fruit from the orchard behind. Love this place. Sandwiches looked good but hey the smoothies are too filling!

...... "the spot" being a need for lunch on the Onomea Bay scenic drive after touring two great waterfalls just north of there (Umauma and Akaka). What a great little roadside oasis, just in the right place. I had learned about this place from the "Big Island Revealed" blue book -- and then confirmed it as a target place for lunch in the TA reviews. And both were spot on.

They have lunch specials, in addition to a limited regular menu, every day -- mostly all made of local Hawaiian ingredients. We had one of their daily special/healthy sandwiches, and we were both very pleased with the quantity and quality of what we had -- including some local Hawaiian fresh fruit that was just yummuy. Seating is all outside under covered verandas -- really pleasant.

This is a MUST STOP if you are in the area.

Stopped for a smoothie and ended up with a great lunch and some fun gifts! Loved it all. The food couldn't have been fresher or better. Owner was friendly and informative. Walked around a bit and saw Dragonfruit avocados and papayas growing on her property. She told us her husband tends to all the fruit trees.

Great top-off to zipline adventures nearby at Akaka Falls. Huge portions for the sandwiches and nachos. Smoothies made with fruit picked from the backyard. Everything made to order, takes a few minutes to prepare your order, but worth the wait.
