“Don't Miss This”
Reviewed November 6, 2012

If you are at all into plants and gardening you don't want to miss this. It is stunning. The walk is considerable, but they do offer a ride on a golf cart if you get to the bottom of the garden and just can't face the walk back up the hill. Their gift shop is one of the best too. Friendly and dedicated people. The road into the garden area is a beautiful ride on the "old road" and very enjoyable.

“Beautiful Gardens”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

We visited in September and it was great weather for sightseeing and doing a little hiking, and no bugs. There is a very steep walkway at the beginning of the trail, but they offer those who need a ride on a golf cart to get around. Take enough time to visit every part of the garden; around three or four hours. If you're a photographer, plan on spending a good part of the day here; you'll want to capture everything.

“Gorgeous”

This was one of the highlights of our trip. It is just north of Hilo. The grounds with incredible flowers and plants were amazing. Great view of the ocean also.

“17 acres of lush landscaping”
Reviewed October 25, 2012

The trail at the beginning is fairly steep, but the majority of the garden is slightly slopped. The landscaping is fantastic and many of the plants are labeled. The Garden goes right up to a little bay and also has a fairly large stream (small river?) on one side. If you are at all interested in plants, this is a must see.

$15 per person charge was a bit steep. The garden closes promptly at 5:00, so plan accordingly
