This may not be a heavily advertised botanical garden out of the "MANY" on the big island, but we couldn't of picked better! We happened upon this place while driving around and we're so glad we stopped! The price is $15 & is well worth it. You can walk @ your own pace and look at beautiful, lush, tropical plants and see the sun shining through the tall trees. We really enjoyed the impressive views of the ocean front too! We highlly recommend this activity over other high-priced & not as impressive botanical tours. This was also one of the very few tours that was close to the ocean w/ocean views.

We visited here during our Honeymoon in June 2011. We had this penciled in as a side attraction to see while we were in the Hilo area, but after going there I would highly recommend anyone on the Big Island make the trip to see this absolutely stunning botanical garden. My expectations were not that high going in, but I was blown away by the magnificent beauty of this place.

When you first enter the park you walk down a steep hill into paradise. There are hundreds of different plants and trees from around the world throughout the gardens. There are waterfalls and little streams everywhere. Our favorite part of the park is when the trail goes by the ocean. Here we are standing in the midst of an amazing rainforest watching the ocean crash against rocks with the beautiful coastline to either side of us. Talk about a tranquil setting. I had never seen anything like that and would recommend anyone that visit the gardens take some time to soak in the beauty at this spot. There is also a blowhole here that is better than the Halona Blowhole on Oahu if you're familiar with that.

We spent 12 days between Oahu and the Big Island on our Honeymoon and this was easily one of the top 5 attractions we visited (and we visited a lot). I highly recommend you take the time to visit this enchanting rainforest if you're on the Hilo side of the Big Island. It far exceeded our expectations and we would return in a heartbeat. It costs $15 per person and takes a few hours to fully walk through the gardens and see everything. I would recommend wearing bug spray/lotion as well.

This is the most beautiful botanical garden we have ever been to, and we have been to quite a few in the U.S. and the Caribbean. Highly recommended.

This botanical gardens is located on the edge of a beautiful cliff. The access is a bit steep, but very short and isn't a problem for most visitors. The gardens is large and provides a variety of views, including sea cliffs, waterfall, an extensive orchid garden, and even some parrots. This garden is well worth the trip and should not be missed.

Note, a portion of the area can be accessed from a steep cliff trail accessed from the side of the road. Just park in the gardens and pay for access to this great park.
