Great little benches for reading or drawing....or meditating along the path and you can ride your bike around the 1 mi. path Beautiful and quiet when no tour groups are going through. Great place to take unique pictures.

“very cool”
Reviewed April 13, 2014

Short easy walk around the park. Very cool. I would suggest getting a guide book or a guide to show you around because there's not a lot of information posted. I followed a guide around and learned a lot.

“Easy hike”
Reviewed April 9, 2014

The hike is flat and very easy. The lava "tree" formations are OK. Really, the park's trees and flowering plants is why you should go. It was on our way to the Kapoe Tidal pools and decided to stop and get out of the car.

“Natural history at its best”
Reviewed April 2, 2014

Very interesting park with lots of tree casts from a lava flow. Nice pathways lead through the park; interesting how plant life regenerates after a lava flow. Peaceful setting and an easy place to explore without being on a tour. Have been to the park several times.

“Worth a short time out”
Reviewed March 31, 2014

It is so lush and green here. The lava trees are very bizarre but quite picturesque. Easy pathway with a short well marked walk. Pretty garden.
Can be skipped if you have a busy day but if you have the time - stop on by for a few minutes
